Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Don't concede now.

It's a great strike from Sanchez, but Lacca was superbly involved again. I'm developing a crush on him!

49 - Arsenal have now conceded more goals in a calendar year than they have EVER before (previously 48 in 1984)

If only Lacazette could get supplied with that type of ball. Come on, Jack!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,925 ✭✭✭pudzey101

Wilshere what a pass for that goal , hope he can stay injury free in 2018

Why would he? Don't get that at all. Every game bar a handful he does that to him.

Would be mental to drop him, he has been extremely impressive, great work rate and doing great things on and off the ball.
Love watching those type of midfielders, they close down quick, got a bit of bite in the tackle and very sharp on the ball.
He could start popping up with a few goals this season too

Sanchez with an extra spring in his step tonight.

Must have signed on the dotted line for PSG:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,404 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Kos with his eyes shut and barely getting off the ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,925 ✭✭✭pudzey101

Id be buying a top class keeper with the $$$$$ from Sanches anyway

Cech is old and washed up.

Poxy win, but a win nonetheless. CP are poor and we struggled to beat them. Speaks volumes.

    Our defence needs major surgery.

Their first loss since the start of November (1-0 Tottenham).

Will Sanchez be sold this January? Need to strengthen our keeper and defence. Thanks for the win

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,693 ✭✭✭emmetlego

    Our defence needs major surgery.

Scary part is, Laurent Koscielny is near the end of his career! He needs replacing too and he's been one of our best in years. Frightening. I still think Mustafi has a probable career ahead of him as an Arsenal stalwart but needs better coaching. I thought he was fantastic for Germany last championships and one before and earmarked him as a target for the club. Hector has lost a yard of pace, Kolasinac looks to have deteriorated at the club. When the new manager comes in, he may improve again.

Didn't he want out at the start of the season? I expect he'll still want out at the end of the season.

Means nothing. They gave the ball away meaninglessly tonight without pressure on them several times. I was surprised how poor they were to agree with your post to some extent though! They were below par tonight and we were similar!

Possibly. We just don't really know what goes on inside though, do we? Players are often pawns on the great big chess board!

Some decline from Kos. Wonder if he's carrying an injury

A well documented litany of achilles and groin problems. So typically Gunner!!

I'd defend the subbing of Lacazette today. Lots of games coming up and with Giroud out he does need protecting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

It's an away win. I'll take it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,676 ✭✭✭✭Ol' Donie

Any away win is a good win this season. Happy with that. (Don't know what the Coq business was about - yeah, give Laca a rest, but Coq just isn't up to it).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,676 ✭✭✭✭Ol' Donie

Well in control should be 2 up

Brian, is there one of those rss yokes for your pod so i can add that to my subscriptions on Podcast Republic?

Then I'll know when there's a new one in case I miss it here.

(I know f*ck all about these semi tech things, so forgive me if there's an obvious answer I'm missing)

Respectfully though in all honesty they are 16th in the league. Good win tbf but id be reluctant to clap ourselves on the back when the fact of the matter the glass ceiling at max is Champions league qualification. And that looks a stretch.

There is no point saying major surgery needed at the back because sadly the man with the power doesn't give a flying fúck about how we defend. This has been in evidence with over a decade now and fair to assume that wont happen at this stage. Im thinking its a case of lack of drills then actual individual competence. What is often not highlighted is the amount of room we afford in the build up to these calamities.
