Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Doesn't Giroud start ahead of Laca in the French Team?
Still rather Laca myself though. He needs 90 mins more often,id say he'd get a few more goals in the last 10 mins of matches with opposition defenders tiring.
I was watching one of the matches the other night (not sure which one) and something the commentator mentioned stuck with me. A striker spends most of the game, hoping the defender slips up so he can get a chance, but also he is slowly wearing away at the defender and tiring him out, which increases his chances as the game drags on. By taking Lacazette off so often Wenger is getting him to do all the wearing down, but not allowing the opportunity to reap the benefit of it.

    Exactly!
And who normally comes on to reap the rewards...Ollie.

Özil back. Extremely green back 3. Will be a good test for them.

Can't help but think that back 5 will be eaten alive.

We'll be lucky to keep it down to three imo. That's not a defence.

An awful lot of pressure on Mustafi there as the senior figure. Maitland-Niles and Holding are going to see a lot coming their way I suspect.

Yep, the Bellerin - Chambers combo tend to let people get behind them too.

At this point I'm just glad Wenger didn't do something Wenger-ish like play chambers at RWB and Bellerin on the left. Expecting us to concede a couple regardless.

We have a very poor bench too if things go awry.
Hopefully Chelsea will have an off-day and our lads will surprise us.

Starting to hold my breath now ......

Reckon the best hope would be to dominate the ball, which puts a big weight on Jack & for Sanchez not to give the ball away 20+ times.

Injured, as well as Kos and Monreal.

I should know this, I just haven't really bothered for the last few months.

Back to normal service for us. Missing a good 4 from our starting lineup due to injury. Chelsea only really missing Luiz, and he isn't in Conte's plans AFAIK.

    F*ck it.

If our front lads turn up, there's no reason we can't beat these.

Wasn't it nice to have no major injuries (bar Santi) for a little while?

Must be the longest we've had a full team to pick from in years and years.

We also have Ace in the Hole Welbz who seems to cause Chelsea all sorts of problems for some reason. Without ever actually scoring.

It's because they think he's up to something. Why does he never score, this striker fella? What's he up to? They don't know what to do with him.

We have actually won 13 out of our last15 games at home.. which is great but shows how diabolical our away record has been.

Especially when you consider we absolutely dominated United and should have held on against The Pool.

I also think that Conte has only beaten us once in 5 attempts? Something like that anyway.

The stage is set for us to be torn to shreds.

So far it looks like the right Arsenal team showed up.

Ooooh. Lucky Morata messed that up.

Awful miss thankfully. Chambers at fault

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,456 ✭✭✭wonga77

    What was Chambers at there...

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,940 ✭✭✭omega man

    Oh so unlucky

    What!?

Why would Maitland-Niles go down there if there wasnt contact, and how was that not a goal?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,456 ✭✭✭wonga77

    fcuking hell

Lucky not to be one down and next minute unlucky not to be one up.
    We're doing ok so far.

Replay just showed clearly that Moses clipped Maitland-Niles with his right knee

The reply I saw showed him tripping over himself in fairness.

Ah now he kicked himself in fairness :D

It looked to me like MN clipped his own ankle?

When Ozil gets the bit between the teeth he is unplayable.. Can be a frustrating player at times but is a joy to watch at his best. Sensational tonight so far

Chambers has been really dodgy so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,238 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

Chambers getting very nervy and making mistakes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

Chambers needs to get his act together

Moratas chance earlier was a disaster. No communication amongst that backline at all. Where are the fúckin leaders in that team?

Even with him declining, I'd say Koscielny is a massive miss in organising that backline.

Great to have Jack back in there. Doing well so far, really need to get a goal tho.

Koscielny not the best at communicating either. Where once we had lions, we now have kittens. All far too quiet.

A new man since his loan. It must have gave him a fright. Alot more robust too.

    Fcukin Xhaka

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,238 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

What does Xhaka actually offer us? He offers little to no defensive protection.

One of the biggest disappointments to me in many years. I really thought we were getting a natural leader, a solid player, but hes anything but that.

If only we could see this Ozil more often. A joy to watch in this form.
