Looking at the line-up if this was anyone but Wenger you'd say the team was selected and was being set up for a clean sheet.

Havent won it since 93 when we did the double with the FA Cup beating Sheff Wednesday in the finals.
Lost 2 finals since then, once to Chelsea and that monumental cock up against Birmingham

To be fair, he was told he had to prove himself if he wanted a new contract. His recent purple patch still shouldn't cloud the fact that he had a fairly average season at Bournemouth last season.

FWIW, I think he will sign a new contract.

Having "fairly average" seasons hasn't effected any of the others though.

I love thinking back to those 2 finals in ‘93, well 3 really. Seems like a relatively small achievement in the modern day game but Christ I remember celebrating those cups so much. Probably just nostalgia I guess....

Would you expect any less? He had a far from impressive season last year, and coupled with his injury record, you can see why he has been asked to prove himself. I don't think he's being treated harshly.

Rather than other players used as the yardstick, Jack should be used as one. Perform or get out.

Not sure what your point is? He has been asked to prove himself and he has so far. You said he had an average season last year. I pointed out that he won potm at least twice so he couldn't have been so bad.
Of course other players are going to be the yardstick, what else would you compare them to? Plenty of other players havent showed anything but that is glossed over

My point is that he has been asked to prove himself and he has so far. He may not have a contract atm, but carry on as he is and he will. I have no problem with him being captain without being offered a new contract.

Regardless, any footballer should have ability to kick with either foot, head the ball, and man-mark. A player with his physical attributes shouldn't get skinned repeatedly.

I don't know about that. Ozil is our best player by a mile BUT had Wenger not been such a pig head about it Fabregas could have been that player that gave us a little bit of steel we needed over the past 3 seasons. A monumental mistake not getting him at the time imo.
