I have used G3 and they are fine. I have never used an expensive set so I don't have anything to compare to. However, the fit is very general. My roof rails have holes where presumably manufacturer or more expensive would slot into. The G3 just has a rubber and metal clamp which clamps onto the rail. Have not used it with a bike, but with a roof box and they have remained in place with no slippage.
