Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't know what people are complaining about here.

I don't like MON's tactics but he's got to half time 0-0 in an away match, weather the Welsh bright start, Joe Allen gone off and silenced the partisan crowd and got more into the game as the half wore on.

So I think we should be happy enough so far, very much in this and plenty to play for in the 2nd half.

The problem is this is not a one off. You could understand the tactics if we had not seen this 10-15 times from MON's Ireland already. This is the way we play. This isn't a special occasion.

Some people are happy to play truly awful football if it means getting into a final now and again and being apart of the whole spectacle. Others aspire for more from the NT. These tactics aren't going to get you anywhere in Russia (or any other tournament) apart from 4th place and a flight home after 2 weeks.

Scraping through here would be a disaster for the long-term future of Irish football but most only care about the short term.

I always get crucified for saying the above but that's my opinion.

Liam Brady got even worse treatment from Jack Charlton, but at least that side were all capable players.

Yeah the guys usually picked ahead of Brady were half decent!....Whelan, McGrath, Sheedy, Lawrenson

We're way off that level of quality now....
