Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not one Irish player has attempted to hold onto the ball yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 932 ✭✭✭Yillan

They were some very panicky Irish players waiting for that corner to come in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,818 ✭✭✭Bateman

Their anthem won't make them better players, it's coming across about as passionate a home crowd as I thought, no more

Back to the 10 men behind the ball, one isolated striker and minimal pressure on the ball that served us so well the past few years.

Can't believe we gave MON a new contract... clueless manager.

Hmm, relates to the sheep and their liking for them. ;)

Wouldn't panic too much about them having this spell of possession, they're the home side so it's going to happen. Need to make it stick more up top though

MIdfield getting pulled everywhere already. Not getting a foothold. Looking pretty familiar at the min.

Stop lashing it away and pass the ball

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,711 ✭✭✭keano_afc

Why are we giving them so much room? They're basically a Championship side, not Brazil. Get touch tight ffs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,818 ✭✭✭Bateman

Think they were singing better than Ireland, we know what we are

Plan so far seems to be let Wales have the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Wales can try whatever through ball they like because they're just going to get the ball back immediately.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,661 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

Just try to stay organised and frustrate Wales, though they look threatening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,111 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Giving the ball back to them with such ease will only lead to one result tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭sonic85

Looks like it's gonna be a long night

You'd think O'Neill would tell them that you can't fire balls into the channels ahead of Murphy because he has not got the pace to chase and win them.

FFs, that's just giving the ball back to the Welsh.

Ah sure as long as there's a party next summer nobody cares about the future.

We'll be stuck with this goon until after the 2022 campaign I'm worried. He will probably qualify for the watered down Euros next time around again.

Our positioning isn't too bad when we don't have the ball, just need to retain it better when we do :-(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,001 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

    that was ok

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,001 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

hopefully things slow down in next 5 to 10.

It was a part of the game we needed to just get past.

The midfield three haven't a clue how to deal with Ramsey and Lawrence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭sonic85

With all the chasing Murphy is having to do he'll be fcuked by half time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,661 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

Murphy is going to have a thankless night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,818 ✭✭✭Bateman

  • O Neill this is dreadful

Remember if Ireland don't go through the damage was done against Georgia and Serbia, not tonight.

GD. But that would only come into effect if we win, which we have to do regardless, AND if Serbia and Georgia draw.
