Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It will quite rightly be between Ronaldo and Messi again.

Messi had a great season and bagged another shed load of goals, but Ronaldo also had a shed load of goals and all the biggest trophies. Can't look past him again.

Nobody else comes close, unless you use the criteria of "they have won it enough, give it to somebody new...".

Don't think you can look past Ronaldo in last season's CL knockout stages, I don't think I've ever seen a player have a run of big games like that before. Main knock against him is a slow start in this season's Champions League while possibly the main knock against Messi may come if Argentina get knocked out of the World Cup tonight.

Unbelievable that Alexis Sanchez is not thought worthy of a place.

    Ronaldo should win this comfortably

Casemiro is a far bigger one imo but neither would be in the running anyway.

When is it reduced to an actual shortlist? Can't see any of the PL players making a smaller list of say ten.

So 10% of the 20 best attacking players in the world the last year play for a team who finished without a trophy and (barely) the 4th highest scorers in their division? Who comes up with these nominations?

Are you talking about Coutinho and Mane
If so, i consider myself Coutinhos biggest critic but i wouldnt throw him in as a goalscorer myself, i also think his inclusion has been his performances with Brazil
