Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Biraghi looks to have won it at the death. Big goal for Mancini.

Full-Time: Italy win it 1-0. Feel sorry for Szczesny but think it was deserved.

And assisted by Lasagna. Who I thought would be a starter

    Sorry :)

Poland the first team relegated. Italy need to beat Portugal at home and hope Portugal get no more than a draw in the final game against Poland to progress.

England supporters up to their old tricks again in Seville.

Teams are in for Spain vs England:
Spain XI: De Gea; Jonny, Nacho, Ramos, Alonso; Thiago, Busquets, Saul; Aspas, Rodrigo, Asensio.

England XI: Pickford; Trippier, Gomez, Maguire, Chilwell; Winks, Dier, Barkley; Rashford, Kane, Sterling.

Wolves defender Jonny making his first start for Spain.

You’d have to feel sorry for Alex Scott being stuck between the Jamie’s.

That Pickford save was weird. He dives when the ball is going well away from goal and then it gets played against him while he's on the ground.

An unusually great emphatic finish from Sterling.

    Classy goal all round there.

Somewhat similar to Owen's finish vs Argentina.

Storming finish by Raheem. Get that contract signed, fella!

    Brilliant goal by Sterling.

Spain look much the same as they did at the world cup here. Bit like Italy last night play pleasant stuff but very little cutting edge.
I have to ask but is Diego Costa out of favour like Koke is??

If she needs a shoulder to cry on, I'm willing to put myself forward. It's the least I can do!

Great goal, brilliant quick spot by Pickford, great holdup by Kane, great ball through, and great finish from Rashford.

    Lovely football.

Brings back memories - "you'll never win anything with the kids". Got to say Southgate has given this England team some self-belief. In the past England players would freeze under the weight of expectation

Very much the same Spain that haven't made the quarter final of a major tournament since 2014 here.

England looking good for the 2 - 0 lead.

Also you can see why Rice might want to play under someone like Southgate who is ready to give youth a chance and try to play progressive football.

God this reminds me of England 5-1 away to Germany!

Spain look an absolute f**king shambles here anytime they defend it's like watching Scotland. Deserved 3 nil lead. With Rodrigo & Aspas up top I can't see much of a return up top either.

    Great play.

    But christ Spain look woeful!

In bigger news Luxembourg are 1-0 up on San Marino.
    David Turpel with the goal.

Enrique needs Paco Alcacer to do another super sub job. Suso and Koke would be of use as well. Has to freshen it up for the second half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,855 ✭✭✭irishguitarlad

This was coming, Ramos can't defend.

    Great finish from Rashford.
It was easy to sky that in the heat of the moment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Great performance from England. Sterling looks a danger every time he gets on the ball.

Elsewhere, Northern Ireland losing to Bosnia 1-0 thanks to a Dzeko goal.

As someone who watches Milan every week if he's relying on Suso to deliver he may be in for a shock.
The likes of Aspas, Rodrigo & Jonny ain't going to get you far when a big tournament rolls around. Thought given their experience Ramos & Busquets were atrocious first half too.

Thought Suso was great against Chievo before the break. Can't be much worse than what was dished up in that first half.

That was a foul on Sterling. Had his foot trodden (is that a word?) on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    Great header from Alcacer.

    Super sub does it again.

    3-1.

Certainly makes it interesting but a 2 goal lead 15 mins into the 2nd half is still a lot more than England could have realistically hoped for

    Cracking header.

That wasn't clever by Ramos. Stop the match for minutes and give England a chance to regroup and calm things down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    Pickford! What are you doing?

Blessed to get away with that.

    Should have been a pen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,925 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

How was that not a pen and a sending off.

Thought they had changed the rule last season - if it's a penalty no need to send off. Having said that he was very lucky either way

No idea. It seems that poor reffing isn't confined to the Premier League.

Only not a sending off if a genuine attempt to play the ball
