Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Enjoyed that half which felt like it flew by. Impressed by the performance of Thiago, Saul Niguez and Carvajal.

England were schooled for a lot of that half.

England played croatia a decent team and lost. Playing a very good team in spain and for large parts of the first half got played off the park.

Shaw hurt after a strong collision. Hasn't moved and players look concerned. Rose coming on.

A lotta sympathy for him, hopefully it's purely precautionary but doesnt look good

Hopefully Shaw is OK, although when they don't show a replay its not a good sign.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Ugh, just saw a replay. He gets an accidental knock off Carvajal and he lands very hard, possibly landing on his own right arm. Knocked out cold. Hope he's okay.

Luxembourg gone 2-0 up. 66 mins.

Might be a good idea for Southgate to put on Loftus-Cheek for the last 15 minutes.

Shaw is conscious and has been on the phone to his family according to the commentators. Good to hear.

Ooh, big moment. English equaliser chalked off for a foul on De Gea.

Looking at the replay, don't think Welbeck did anything wrong. De Gea dropped it. Massive let-off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,067 ✭✭✭✭martingriff

That ref must be made of strong stuff giving that call. Should have been goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,287 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

Maybe the foul was on the defender?

Would like to know if it was for the push on the defender first rather than the nothing 'challenge' on De Gea.
Commentators on 3 focusing on keeper challenge.

My biggest gripe with the game these days is how the keeper always gets the foul given, they only have to brush off a defender and throw themselves to the ground and its a free out. Very infuriating.

Has to be. Certainly wasn't a foul on the keeper, who made a terrible mess of that high ball.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,820 ✭✭✭smelly sock

    Welbeck pushed the defender first

Must say I'm enjoying the Nations League overall. Much more interesting watching internationals with evenly matched sides, and who are eager to get the win.

Not trying to be. They're a rival nation and everything in this modern age doesn't have to be hand holding and hugs, rivalry is allowed.

Plus, I've seen their fans in action and anyone that also did would feel the same. They completely and utterly despise the very core of us and everything about us.
Presume you mean football fans, not us in general?  Though it would only be the idiot minority - complete scum of a few years back, hopefully non-existent now.
Glad Luke Shaw appears to be ok - it means I can laugh at someone who tweeted 'Not often you see Luke Shaw put something on a plate for someone else'

I don’t understand the hate it got when you look at it. It’s cutting out more of those boring friendlies and matching up teams who are ranked close league a will have some very good games just a pity after this weekend it is going behind a pay wall

    Ukraine vs Slovakia teams:
Ukraine XI: Pyatov, Karavayev, Rakitskiy, Burda, Matvyenko, Stepanenko, Yarmolenko, Yaremchuk, Malinovsky, Konoplyanka, Marlos.

Slovakia XI: Dubravka, Satka, Skrtel, Skriniar, Hubocan, Kucka, Lobotka, Mak, Hamsik, Weiss, Nemec.

I'll sit on the fence for this one and say 1-1.

1-0 to Ukraine. Yarmalenko penalty which keeper got a hand to. Not sure it was a penalty myself.

Poor enough game. Only ten minutes left.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,401 ✭✭✭✭Collie D

Finished 1-0. 2 wins from 2 puts Ukraine in a good position to top the group. 6 points clear of Czech Republic and Slovakia who both have a game in hand and play each other next.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Wasn't an absorbing game but I don't think many expected it would be. The next two games look much more appealing and will hopefully deliver some entertainment. Denmark vs Wales teams are in:
Denmark XI: Schmeichel; Dalsgaard, Jorgensen, Kjaer, Stryger Larsen; Eriksen, Schone, Delaney; Poulsen, Braithwaite, Sisto.

Wales XI: Hennessey; Gunter, Chester, Mepham, Davies; Ampadu, Allen, Ramsey; Lawrence, Roberts, Bale.

Tough one to call with all the controversy surrounding the Danes and the Welsh looking good against us. I'm going to go for Wales to edge it, maybe with a bit of Bale brilliance.

I can't remember but I've definitely heard him before because I remember that time too thinking he sounded like PJ Gallagher would if he moved to England.
