Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Denmark open scoring Eriksen. Wales are doing perfectly well.

    Andy Reid I think?

Super stop from Hennessey. Looked like it was going in from Sisto.

Doesn't matter. Denmark will make short work of us in their two games.

Thoroughly enjoying this game. Danes are a very tidy side but Wales are really giving them a real game. Think a draw here would be a fair result on the basis of what I've seen so far.

Denmark penalty. Ampadu penalised for handball.

Penalty to Denmark for Ampadu handball

Great pen from Eriksen. 2-0 to the Danes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,401 ✭✭✭✭Collie D

Good penalty by Eriksen to make it 2-0.

    Still 25 minutes left.

Bulgaria 1-0 up against Norway and Macedonia winning 2-0 against Armenia.

0-0 between Georgia and Latvia in the other 5pm kickoff.

    Another impressive stop from Hennessey.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Wales falling into the classic kick and rush trap trying to force the issue and so losing possession easily and often.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Full-Time. Good win for Denmark. I thought they might be affected by the off-field stuff but they were impressive. Had it not been for Hennessey the scoreline would have been worse for Wales.

Now we just need to win our two home games next month and we're top of the group. Simples. :p

Suppose we can hope for the DBU and players to fail to reach agreement. And the Welsh to remember their coal mining roots and join the Danes in solidarity.

After all the talk of Ampadu, he is at fault for both of Denmark's goals

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    France vs Netherlands teams:
France XI: Areola; Pavard, Varane, Umtiti, Lucas Hernandez; Pogba, Kante, Matuidi; Mbappe, Griezmann, Giroud.

Netherlands XI: Cillessen; de Ligt, van Dijk, Blind; Tete, Propper, de Jong, Babel; Promes, Depay, Wijnaldum.

Looking forward to seeing how de Ligt and de Jong fare against this calibre of opposition. Depay's had an impressive start to the season but he'll have his work cut out for him tonight. Areola looked good against Germany from the highlights I saw.

    I'll go for a 2-0 home win.

And it's great experience for the lad to learn from at 17. They know he can produce against the shìte teams as seen Thursday night and in the qualifying group they'll probably be in pot 2 so will have one very good team to play the rest made up of Ireland, Georgia and Moldova.

Still think the Welsh team aren't all that and we made them look much much better than they actually are by playing dog****. Gonna turn out to be a master plan by lulling them into a false sense of security by playing shìte in Cardiff and pump them in Dublin :D

The lad is 17. He'll learn from those mistakes. If he continues developing like he is now, he'll be a cracking players in a few years.

    Mbappe!

Can't give the French an opportunity like that.

    The what?

1-0 to France via an unmarked Mbappe.

Just a quarter of an hour played.

The ref picked up.the matchball from a stand where it was hovering.
Babel attempted to dye his hair orange but unfortunately it resembles Mrs Slocombe from Are you being Served more than its intended colour.

That was 100% a penalty on Wijnaldum

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Pavard caught Wijnaldum with that tackle. Dutch should have a pen.

    UEFA: it's complicated

France lead 1-0 at the break. Griezmann's had some nice involvement. Kante and Umtiti impressive. Pogba playing well too. De Jong been the best Dutch player I'd say. Looks very comfortable at this level.

What is the point of the European Championship with this tournament???

This is defacto a European Championship just in a different format.

Mendy about to come on. Excited for this change but also anxious for my Fantasy Football team.

Chance! Wijnaldum drags the shot wide.

    BABEEEEEEEELLLLLL

    1-1! Can't say they don't deserve it.

Has been some cracking games so far in the nations league, even games in the C and D league have been enjoyable given it's two teams who are somewhat equal rather than a France, Holland or England picking a smaller nation to blood new players.

Teams can still bring in new players to try out but still got to keep the team competitive because they act as a back door to the euros.

    European Championship - Cup

    Nations League - League

    :pac: :pac: :pac:

League A was what people wanted in the Championship 12 highest ranked teams

This will offer promotion and relegation so every game has meaning

Enjoyed that game. Good win for France. I think the Dutch can take plenty of positives from that performance. They gave the World Champs a game in their own backyard and had two good penalty shouts, particularly the one in the first half.

Is Lloris in danger of losing his place after these 2 performances by Areola? He was unbelievable in the Germany game.

I'd say Lloris is safe in the short-term. Areola will play the next few Champions League games for PSG due to Buffon's suspension, but after that I'd expect Areola to return to the PSG bench. Next season though if Areola is the PSG number one and doing well there may be a clamour for him to get the spot.
