Hey. Quick question. Today's 14.10 kir-dub flight went tech today and the aircraft is in kir.

What will happen? Will they send engineers and spares down on a later flight.

A lot will depend on what's failed. It may well be cheaper/quicker to send an engineer by road, with the parts needed, and things like crew availability/duty hours and the like could then influence if it can be positioned back immediately or not. The other option may be to send a taxi with the engineer, parts and a reserve crew, if they know it's a quick fix once the parts arrive. Airport operational hours may also be a factor, if they fly down on a later flight, it may then not be possible to leave until the morning if the airport has closed for the night.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Many thanks for taking the time to answer. Yes later flight due in at 19.55. This aircraft usually stays overnight to do the morning flight.
Would I be right in saying that the original crew more than likely returned to dub with the passengers by bus.

It just I'm here collecting a friend.
I find all this operational and logistic stuff very imteresting

Not sure what they will have done with the crew, but that sounds possible. A lot will depend on the complexity of the issue, and the availability of parts, there's no guarantee that the spares needed were available in Dublin, if they have to come from somewhere else, it could be tomorrow before an engineer even goes to the aircraft. Too many unknowns to be more specific.
