They're (see what I did there!) not going to challenge this season. Top 4 at best.

Pretty low quality stuff by both sides. Only coutinho looked like he could actually do something when he got the ball, hope if it was a knock he got it ain't serious. I'm not surprised Utd sat back & even less surprised Liverpool didn't punish them.

United will be disappointed with the performance, but result ok.

1 win in 8 now for Liverpool, must be worrying

If you play that fearfully against the big teams, you won't have to worry about that happening, don't you worry. ;)

But if you can't score when dominating a game where do you expect to finish?

Not good enough by a long way for a title challenge. Ye'll be battling for top four more likely. Abysmal.

Did standards and expectations drop when Chelsea or City now change managers?

What about Liverpool in the past going from Shankly to Paisley, Fagan and Dalglish?

Of course Fergie is a hard act to follow but I do not think he would be happy with how Mourinho has Utd playing at Anfield these days.

A second half were Utd offered nothing, had zero threat and just played to stifle the opposition is not the Utd way and I don't see how fans could be happy with it.

You do watch your team to be entertained after all.

We've been entertained all season so far

A draw result away at Anfield is how trophy winners do things

Don’t think too many people were expecting a title challenge after the summer transfer window.

Not sure that United will mount one either. I could see them drop off after what was a very handy start to the season.

    Your talking out of context

A draw at Anfield isn't the worst result

    That's how you win titles

Then you beat the teams you should be beating

Liverpool will lose next week and Utd will win

    That's the difference

United are not going to win the title.

They will be found out as the season progresses and tougher teams are met than what they have played before today.

He bitched a couple weeks ago about only one team trying to win the game and look at him now.

United will be found out this year. No attacking threat against non relegation candidates
    That's your biggest problem

Stoke and us were yer only tough matches. If you are comparing against your pathetic season last year in the hope of transferring to a title challenge you're doing it wrong.

Titles will be won by winning matches like today against 4/5/6 best teams. City will win more of those and be far ahead of ye.

Is it a good result though all of a sudden? Some serious overconfidence from a lot of United fans before this game, seemed to think they'd smash us, they'll have to change their tune now I suppose.

I don't know what they expected in fairness. The ones I know would have been happy with the draw.

That's a proper Mourinho performance and result. It's what he does. It gets results and it is a result. He turned up with a Chelsea side in 2014 and they played like a League 2 side.

When Ireland do it and get results like Monday, we just have to suck it up. Mourinho is a proven winner at the end of the day/season. Man U fans will be chuffed today and rightly so.

I dunno in hindsight a draw is a great result but play that way against City, Spurs or Chelsea and United are going to get mangled. If Salah learned to shoot properly or if Liverpool had an actual striker they would have won that. I knows ifs and buts means nothing now and a draw is a fine result for United, but setting up that way against league rivals is never going to win you a title.

Improving on sh!te to title requires much more than that

You are struggling to understand that.

Your manager results in matches worse to watch that MON does with Ireland.

After all the money he has spent on his attack, that's disgraceful.

It is usually Mick, but we weren’t playing against a very good side today. They’re top 6 contenders at best. I could understand against a team who is our rival on the table. If we set our stall out away to these upper mid table sides we’re going to do the same against the top teams. That’s a lot of games and points to sacrifice, especially with a team like City in the mix.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭Rekop dog

I mentioned Uniteds very poor record against the top 6 earlier as main reason they won't win today. It never looked likely once you seen the flow of the game.

Can't see them getting much from City or Spurs with that approach, given they are more clinical than Liverpool
