Sorry? I'm probably missing something here but don't know what you mean.

Aspas is a woeful player and possibly the worst signing that was made while Rodgers was the manager.

    After Balotelli of course.

Well yeah he was woeful for us anyway. If he's done well since then fair play.

Still wondering what "Guh" and "mer" meant :)

    Pah

    Cvra?

Ah no seriously, aspas wasn't terrible for us.

He never, understandably, got a chance and most of the football World was watching during one of his rare chances when he came on and took a **** corner.

I'd definitely be keeping an eye on Mahrez, N'Didi and Gray at Leicester. Think all 3 could be good for us. Maybe I'd worry about Mahrez work rate and attitude but he's a class player.

You're on the list now :D

We tried to sign Gray a couple seasons back apparently.

    Good player alright.

Don’t think Klopp would be interested in Mahrez

Nearly every time I see United they don't look all that great but they keep grinding out results. Will be 9 points clear of us after today.

Yeah, we probably need to be honest about where we are.

Its not just city that are a step above on this season's performances.

Quality keeper and fairly good defence with an outstanding DCM.

That will get you further than a few sublime attacking mids

Gifted a goal by Leicester - Maguire brainlessly pushing over their man on the edge of the box for a free kick.

Edit: holy crap an equaliser from Maguire!!!

Not quite the 9 points, ten men and pull it back..

    7 .... still though. They're sitting pretty in 2nd .

Well we haven’t lost any ground on those ahead of us.

Well except City and everyone is losing ground on them.

Bar City. But the result tonight means we’ve matched the champions and there’s plenty of time to make up the ground.

    They'll finish there too.

Us and Spurs and Chelsea/Arsenal for the other 2 spots I'd say

United are a prime example of what a good goalkeeper will do for you, they give up plenty of chances, De Gea just keeps them in games. Could probably count the amount of games Mignolet has saved for us on one hand, yet he's on his fifth season with us.

Yes, I agree. We're only a point ahead of Spurs and arsenal. It's really very close for top 4.

Swansea are about as likely to win the league as anyone in the top 4 bar City though :o

2 more goals for Aspas this evening, how the fcuk did he not work out? Looks like a world class striker for Celta Vigo.

He plays against poor quality week in week out. Still a useless player in premier league. Sturridge could go there and score 1000 goals a season.

Van Dijk a done deal. You heard it here first!

A few reports starting to appear online tonight that VVD is a done deal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,895 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Southampton softening to the sale of their most valuable asset, they're not even playing him or need him. He's not giving them everything either, going through motions when on pitch. A lot of money if deal happens. Celtic getting a huge slice, that is Southampton's real issue, they want what Celtic will get added on so they don't lose out, hence 70m price tag.

Gotta love FSG the cheapskate bastards, they really love winding ricero up.

Usual shyte with the media, player left out of match squad.

Headline story that its a done deal.

With those Utd and Chelsea draws it serves to remind us that while we're infuriatingly **** at times the rest of our competitors have their own issues and we're still firmly in the hunt.

We just need to go on another run of wins again and it'll go from looking like wins and then a bunch of draws, to no losses in 20 sort of thing.
We'll at worse still be in touching distance but we may well come out ahead of the pack if we can show a modicum more consistency at the start of the 2nd half of the season.

    That internet thingy.

The only internet thingy I’ve seen is by that spoofer Kevin Palmer from the Sunday World. Just checking if you’d seen anything tangible rather than nonsense by a football groupie pretending to be a journalist.

If we're buying a goalie next summer I'd give Roma a call again

I saw some Journo from Southampton blue ticked on that twitter thing has hinted at a deal with some club is done.

BBC south coast correspondent Adam Blackmore.

It does look like Van Dijk is leaving Southampton as it was confirmed he isn't injured.

Wouldn't be so sure they will sell to us though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Something is clearly up, if VVD has decided his chances at City or Chelsea are less (and obviously that's true compared to Liverpool) and he is off which he clearly is as he'd been benched so often then as Sherlock Holmes would say - once everything else has been ruled out what is left, no matter how ludicrous, must be the truth.

I did see that earlier alright but as he didn’t mention us, I didn’t really take heed of it as he has been linked to 3-4 teams. I was just checking if any of th local ITKs had said anything. And I don’t mean Moley!

Listening to Kevin Kilbane last night he said he had heard that VVD will join us.

If Southampton are going to sell I think we will match any price offered by other teams and it seems Klopp has convincedhim to join us to build a Legacy at a club like Liverpool over other clubs.

I don’t think he is worth the money myself but he is better than anyone we have at the club right now and he looks a leader on the pitch something we are severely lacking.
