So the single player part is essentially just the weird broken story bits between the tutorials for how to use the special heros?

Ah is that what that is, I just jumped straight onto kill confirmed so I could get to level 5 and create a class
Ghost unlocks really early in this one

Started my first few rounds of blackout dropping out in the fringes and out of trouble :( and got a few top 10's but only 2 kills at most but I felt I would never win because my skills aren't up to scratch for the final gun fights. So changed tactics and decided to drop into the hot spots and get into action and it's great fun and you feel like you can win them not like that cluster f**k PUBG.

One thing I have gotten is a few quad bike kills :) two in one game a while back, Just drive around the place mopping them up while they are engaged with other players. The quad is quite enough....

I love hot dropping in this, people's attention is focussed on looting and you can clean up.

Enjoying Blackout so far. Couple of things could be better - picking up gear could be easier still and also it would be nice to know how common/rate an item is (like they have in Fortnite).

Pressing square is as easy as it can get.

It still feels very clunky compared to picking up items in Fortnite.

Can't recollect what Fortnite was like, but holding square during the beta was annoying.
Just pressing square seems about right to me.

Played a good bit tonight . Early impression only but I'm really enjoying it. Nothing seems too over powered yet. Loving the mp and black out is fun .

Hopefully it will stay like this .

Bought it for Blackout but decided to try zombies since I never played it before, had so much fun already in it its already worth the price tag. Never thought I'd go back to cod but here I am having a ball with it

I tried zombies on black ops 2 and 3 and just couldn’t get into it, run here and switch on this etc and it seems to be very much a team based game which didn’t suit me as I’m a lone casual player
What are people using as specialist ? I’m using torque mainly but I’ve not much gameplay so far

I'm mainly using Ruin whenever I can, his Grapple Gun is making it far quicker to get around the map at times.

    Blackout is so tense.

On solo it was me v another guy, had the drop but he had a sniper rifle and ended up looking in and out of the tree and headshotted me. She's the importance of a proper sniper rifle. I know now I should have made my way closer to him instead of hanging back behind my tree.

Played quads with some friends and we destroyed everyone. 3 wins in about 6 games

Last game we had 3 alive with about 8 enemies, tiny circle, I got 4 kills in about 15 seconds including game winning double kill. I wish I could have seen the replay of that.

These games get so tense that I end up having sweaty palms and shaking with nerves lol.

I haven't touched MP or zombies, no interest in cod mp the past few years, I still regularly play COD4 remastered mp.

Seems to be an issue called emotes peaking we're you emote you go to 3rd party and you can see around corners etc. It breaks Blackout and game modes like Search and Destroy.

That’s a crazy oversight on the devs part.

I’ve only played a few games and they ended very quickly so at least now I have an excuse. Lol

In other news had a lot of fun playing TDM last night. Some really great maps.

I dont know about this..maybe I just need to get into my groove but trying to get to lvl 5 to unlock create a class took far too long. I'm not too sure about this whole ttk mechanic  I'm only getting 2-3 kills game no matter what I do I keep pumping lead into lads and they wont go down... but it seems that I drop like a fly:mad: didn't help that the default load out they give you is the S**test load out that is ever possible

Started building a proper class now and im now getting up to maybe 4 or 5 kills a game so maybe there light at the end of the tunnel. Normally a HC but paying core to get the hang of guns etc for blackout (which I'm enjoying)

Took me an hour to hit level 7 playing chaos tdm and kc and I’m very rusty as I’ve not played cod properly since ghost, once I get some attachments for the guns it should improve my gameplay, I’m meeting people on prestige 2 and they are melting me

My K/D ratio is ****in shocking but has improved since I unlocked more guns and better perks etc..

Plus it takes time to get to really know the maps.

Also bear in mind some of these ****ers are lvl 40 plus already.

With three kids and a wife I’m surprised I’ve managed to get to lvl 13 at this point.

COD for me has always just been practice practice practice and eventually it clicks.

SMGs are useless. Once I was able to figure out how to equip an assault rifle I was laughing.

Theyre decent for getting up close and personal with a shotty as secondary. Went 31-6 on Control this morning. Best result so far.

The first smg shreds . But crap at longer ranges. What I'm using a lot is the titan mg. It's a beast. In have a I'd of 1.6 ish in this compared to 1 in ww2.

I'll def be playing this for a long while . At this stage in ww2 I already hated it

Finally got my first few games in last night, got up to level 4 so will hopefully get easier when get to start building a class

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,878 ✭✭✭heroics

Played a couple of games this morning and got up to level 5 so now need to start unlocking weapons. keep getting caught out by not healing myself but I'm sure that will just click after a while.

the default class with the burst AR on shotgun as a secondary was pretty decent.

What specialist are people using? I played mainly with nomad for the trip mines and dog :)

Also how do you choose where to spawn in?

Try crash. And I like firebreak. The icr is a great ar.
Not overly sure on the spawns myself.

    What game modes you playing?

is it just me or do you respawn further from the action in comparison to other COD games

I'm actually not a fan of the new maps. They're the classic 3 lane setup for the most part, but they have a lot of long boring sections. That one with the robotics assembly is a prime example.

Had my flirt with Blackout, not for me. MP is good fun as was expected.

Yeah I’ve tried it on my own and just don’t really enjoy it. The concept of a battle royal that is not blackout specifically. FWIW I rather it to fortnight just because it’s 1st person rather than third.

That said I played it with a mate the other night and that was fun so maybe you need to play it with mates. Bit slow for my liking.

TDM etc I’d have no issue spending hours at on my own.

And Zombies the same I reckon when I get into it although I suspect some actual teamwork would be very useful here.

Bots are the goat in zombies :P, only dickish moves they make are not allowing you to save a zombie so you can do an easter egg as well as they steal your kills. They are really amazing though. I was shocked of how good they worked because before this game was released, I was like how the hell will bots work in zombies? :pac:

So what’s better teaming up with strangers online or with bots?
