This worth buying? I have a £5 off voucher that Amazon sent me. It expires tomorrow.

I only play Blackout and generally don't care about skins/emblems/calling cards/whatever so for me it's been worth it. Currently getting about 2 hours a day out of it.

It's an average game..nothing particularily special about it and I'm already getting bored with it so will be deleting it soon to make way for RDR2.

Did you play CoD WW2? Well it's miles better than that.

I'd say yes, even though tonight was one of those night where I couldn't seem to get a kill for love nor money. It's very slick, and there's a lot to do.

    Depends what you’re looking for.

It has no single player mode.

    It has three multiplayer modes.

If you like battle royal modes there’s one of those. Not for me but plenty like it.

Then there’s zombies which is good craic.

And the normal multiplayer is good as ever. It’s COD with a slower TTK.

It’ll be constantly updated etc as well and it’ll have a big player base so no hanging around waiting for matchups.

I’m up to 20 odd hours of the regular multiplayer now and enjoying it.

COD is cod really, I’ve bought the last three flying versions and hated them and didn’t even get prestige and normally I would be a prestige master.
    Story mode not include meh
Blackout I haven’t tried it but it looks like an intense camp fest
Multiplayer for me as a casual seems to be hard work but I’m enjoying it, it’s goinh to take time to adjust to time to kill as I stop shooting out of sheer habit expecting them to be dead after half a clip and then bloop sniped
All depends what game you’re into, if you like cod it’s the best one for a while, someone mentioned red dead 2, I watched my mate streaming that for 2 hours and not much happened tbh it looks like a game where you will lose days playing it

    The internet isn’t for everyone

I think it's a good return to form. I don't play Blackout and have never played Zombies, so they don't interest me, but the MP is as solid as ever. Unlike most other people, I absolutely loved Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare. Two extremely good games but people wouldn't give them the time to get used to and immediately hated them. I'd go so far as to saw AW is my second favourite CoD, after MW2.

The MP in this is really good though, even if it took as while to transition back to boots on the ground (I gave up on WWII after about 5 hours, just felt too similar to older games and didn't do anything new for me). 10 or 12 specialists to choose from, each with their own minor and major perk. Torque is my favourite, can create really good kill zones with his barb wire and barricade. A few maps are made with Torque in mind I'd say, and the barricade is great to prevent enemy camping in strategic spots. But, like all the previous CoD games, each Specialists abilities can be cancelled out or beaten by another Specialist.

They limit who you can play as, I think there can be only 2 Specialists the same per team or possibly per match. The guns feel hefty, each does feel different. I'm having a blast mowing people down with the LMG's, and I'm spending my first levels up to prestige working on LMGs only. I've about 10 levels left to get before prestige, and i have 2 of the 3 LMGs prestiged once each.

It does take a while to get used to the new weapon customisation, with some attachments having 2 levels, such as Laser Sight (improved hip fire accuracy) and Laser Sight 2 (better accuracy and no movement penalty). Plus the operator mods add an extra level, but I haven't come across a really useful one yet and they take up 3 slots technically (1 for the wildcard, 2 for the mod). Suppressors seem to be weapon specific now, as the Titan LMG doesn't have one, but the Hades does. Only a couple of ARs have one, and not sure about SMGs or snipers. Shotguns have been relegated to secondary weapons again, but the first one seems a bit useless in core. I'd imagine it's savage in HC.

Overall, Treyarch have made another really good game, even with the lack of SP. There technically is a story mode, but it's basically missions as the specialists to learn their story. Haven't tried it yet. But I find myself thinking about playing it throughout the day, so that's a good sign.

Have no interest in the season pass yet, but I will pick it up eventually. The maps are typical, multiple lane killfests, and i'm just playing core TDM at the moment, but Gun Game is extremely fun. Aside from that SMG, the Spitfire. Screw that gun!

I’m the other person that really enjoyed Infinite Warfare.

I bought it when it release with Modern Warfare. I didn’t play it for a month or two as I only bought it so I could play Modern Warfare which was a great nostalgia buzz.

I ended up playing a lot of Infinite Warfare, I’d say close to 100hours, loved the maps in particular the space level.

I enjoyed both Infinite Warfare and Advancrd Warfare a lot more then Black Ops 3. Also Infinite Warfare and WWII's supply drop system was a lot fairer then Treyarch's supply sytems for both Blops3 and now Black Ops 4. Everyone blames Activision but if that was the case WWII and IW would have had similar poor loot systems as Blops 3 and Blops4. So screw you Treyarch! For the record I cannot get into MP or Blackout due to it's rubbish connection/hit detection so I find myself going back to WWII on a daily basis.

I didn’t play WWII but I preferred Infinite Warfare to Blops 3 personally. The maps in particular I thought were better.

All that said I’m ****ing delighted we’re back to boots on the ground. Take away the stupid ****in slide as well and I’ll be happy.

I like black ops 4 but I am finding the game laggy as hell. Check the network stats and ping is like a rock solid line at around 40ms. Should be fine at that but it’s so inconsistent. The usual things wind me up. Snipers running around like shotguns when subs need 6-7 shots up close to kill.

People not playing obj. Camping in your own spawn so you end up spawn trapped. Slums is brutal for it.

I played a good bit of ww2 and I have already rage quit more games in this than a whole year of ww2.

    My connection seems fine.

Snipers are only pissing me off when they they’re really ****ing good at it. Some of them are quick scoping and tbh I nearly admire cause I can’t do it.

People in COD have never understood objectives.

Spawn trapping does need to be tightened up on without a doubt.

Don’t bother rage quiting. It’s COD after all. Take it with a pinch of salt, change lobby and move on to get next game.

Or take a break like I have the past few days and play something else. COD for me has always been a short burst game. An hour here and there with the odd marathon session if its goin well for me.

It wouldnt be a call of duty game if the rage didn't occasionally come boiling up inside you. There are just some rounds where it seems no matter what you do, the opponent always wins the gunfight, even if you've landed shots on them first.

The problem with removing spawn trapping is you end up with constant spawn flips, which effects more games a lot more often than some spawn trapping.

I think the problem I had last night was on Slums where a team mate with a sniper decided to camp in our spawn at Lot and another guy lying in hydrant with an LMG (https://imgur.com/a/3WNGn9Y) which basically meant we spawned back there for the whole 2nd round of Domination. The other team just never even tried to push the spawn and we got murdered by streaks. Positive I suppose is that I destroyed loads of streaks with the launcher

Settle an argument; what happens in black out when you use the same perk multiple times at the same time? e.g. picking up four different squad links and activating them all.

Thanks for all the interest folks. After some experiments, the time stacks while multiple perls are active.

Pulled the trigger on this with Amazon €55. Arriving next week. Have Battlefield V arriving the week after. I guess I’m a sucker for FPS.

I’m loving blops4. It’s a little different to past COD games in terms of ttk but other than that it’s what you’d expect.

I played the beta of Battlefield V and really enjoyed it. I’d buy it but I don’t have the time to put into it to justify it.

I’m lvl 49 in Blops currently. Anyone prestige’ing? I think I will cause I’ll wnd up playing this game off and on for a year or so, so it’ll give me more to aim for etc..

Think i'm about 46 myself, so will be prestiging this weekend hopefully. It unlocks more challenges, so i'm all for that sweet xp!

I’ve never done it in previous games so it’s about time I saw what the hype was all about.

Must do a bit of YouTubing to see exactly what it does. Lol

bored of blackout now. it's too fast paced for me. I prefer the longer drawn out games of pubg.

Fast paced?! Really? I got bored within a few games as it felt like a game of hide and seek. I went in all guns first round and died and then just hid the second time and came 7th. Not my thing I must say but definitely not fast paced. Lol

I haven’t. Tried Fortnite. Thought it was just the third person view I didn’t like but turns out it’s the battle royal mode in general. Just not for me I suppose. Maybe it’s in comparison to normal multiplayer or zombies that I find it incredibly slow and boring. Again horses for courses and all that.

i find fortnite bad as well, way too cartoony.

pubg is just about right for me for a BR game.

It resets your rank back to Prestige 1 Level 1 and you work your way through it again. It locks all the weapons, attachments and perks behind level progress again, but all weapon challenges stay. It's why when I'm trying to prestige weapons, I always change to the latest unlocked one, as I know I'll be playing with them again, and I want to get the most levelling done between prestiges!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,420 ✭✭✭OmegaGene

Prestige is alright if you want to get prestige master or like playing for xp, I used to do it in the good old days but don’t think I will bother on this one tbh
    It’s over rated

To be honest anything that keeps my interest. Grinding generally does to a good degree so I probably will prestige. Lvl 53 now so getting close. Getting better too. Finishing in the top three now most matches which I’m happy with. Took a while. Its knowing the maps, playing as Ruin to get into he action faster really helps. I’m still not getting too many score streaks. The odd UAV and CUAV and Hellstorm but it’s only one time in five or six tbh.

Edit... just hit prestige 1. Spent most of my time playing team deathmatch so far. It is stupidly addictive as always. Might start branching out into different modes now though while the lobbies are still busy.
