Connemara, Donegal and Sligo looks like they'll get most of the battering.

Munster will be very badly hit as well. Per 7 55 forecast by met eireann.

That’s quite a significant number of ESB outages in Cork. It looks to be over 2000 customers across several faults. Biggest ones are close to the city : Ballincollig and Riverstown area.

And it's only starting really. Sorry wrong thread.

I noticed a lot of very large temporary hoarding advertising on my way home last night, and thought they would be prime for being damaged and causing damage.... Like the ones advertising new housing estates etc.

According to Joanna, the higher side of the depression might lull you into a false sense of security it's the lower end of the depression that's going to bring in the damage and even now it's not 100% where exactly it's going to go.

We were expected into work this morning. Our boss wouldn't even ring us and tell us if we'd have work or not. The employees made the decision not to go in so he'd no choice to leave us off.

Minister of State advises employees not to come to work.

My employer says business as usual.

I think I'll bring this up the next time they have the audacity to attempt a "wellness" workshop.

I work evening shifts from 4 til midnight but had to be in at 8:30 this morning for defibrillator training. Noticed the carpark was half empty so was getting the impression people had been sent home.

Turns out that was the case. As soon as I got in the door they sent me back home "it just won't be safe to travel home later on".

That's in Wexford town where it's still just a breeze blowing at the minute. My girlfriend and sister are both gone to work though so hopefully they get sent home too.

When the power goes my house alarm tends to go off too. Last time it happened the alarm was going off until power was restored, I couldn't stop it. Anyone know how to stop it if it happens again? I won't be able to leave the house to escape the noise and neither will my poor neighbours.
