I'm not due in work until later today,we are still on wait and see mode. I know others are all in since 8am.It was the same during Darwin.Turned up to find the power out in the whole area,a text or call wouldn't have went astray.

Not much you can do you. I have been told that it is a good idea to open lee ward door/ flap to prevent explosive wind action. My polytunnel was designed as a model suitable for the Aran Islands and has withstood all storms to date. Fingers crossed...

I think this has been overrated. Maybe I'll change my mind later but Jesus the media hype is unreal !! Non stop . It's like we're all gonna die today .

If this wasn't an "ex hurricane " we would just get on with life as though it was another bad Autumn storm . Even the news from Kerry and Cork isn't bad at all , and the storm was meant to hit there 7 am ?

I know that technically its downgraded from a Hurricane but to most people that suggests that its not going to be as bad as has been forecasted. Its a really bad phrase and I believe has caused the "sure it will be grand" lemmings to take a chance under the misguided idea that things have "improved"!

Neighbour has a large skip bag sitting out the front of her house with lots of wooden objects in it. Tried to talk to her last night but she won't answer the door. Going to be fun and games if that wood starts flying around later.

Not the case these days IMO. Majority of people will have 3G/4G coverage.

Cork suburbs, Douglas. Still breezy, but only one strong gust I have noticed so far. Luckily not in an exposed position so not feeling brunt of wind yet. Power still on.

I'm on the cork coastline and it is very bad, were not even near the peak yet, I think you'll have a change of mind later when you witness how severe these winds are
