The point in trying to make is that we are an island +we get battered by storms all the time especially on the west. So far we have had much worse storms then this. Yes things might change but not so far. So yes I do think over hyped. I know it's not hit Dublin yet but hasn't hit a lot of South coast as bad as they said either.

I'm in McDonald's and they're closing down their stores in the city centre. A decision they should have made at 9am when Dublin Bus stopped. Staff on minimum wages now having to find a way home via taxi or lift.

But all the evidence suggest that this is not the usual storm. So isn't it proper to try to plan to minimise the potential damage?

You are ignoring the evidence of all the experts on the basis of what you expect to be the usual. You do know that unusual things do actually happen from time to time?

Last night at 11.20 or so? They didn't. They said services would become curtsiled/impacted after 10am, until at least 6pm and that they'd review the situation further. Nothing about a complete cessation of service.
