I'm working in Galway early tomorrow morning and staying there tonight. What time would be best to travel from Dublin to Galway? I presume the M6 is still open?

Watch the weather and wait till it starts to quiet down so you can leave for Galway later tonight. If it won't settle get up very early and travel tomorrow when it should be safe to do so.

Ah sure "People are losing the run of themselves. It's not the end of the world. It'll just be windy and wet on Monday and if you're not by the sea you'll be fine" Paddy!! ;)

(In all seriousness, I'd leave it pretty late in the evening, man. ;) )

Suns gone red over parts of the UK cause of all the sand from the Sahara brought up by The Storm

Would that not more likely be due to the massive fires in Portugal and Spain? Many people dead over there it seems.

They should be locked up or heavily fined for endangering the lives of others who have to rescue them.

They certainly shouldn't have gone out, thats for sure....but

I'd question the logic in Rescue116 hosting a facebook debate where you have 900 comments, many of them calling for the people's heads, saying they should be left to die, thrown in prison etc.
I know people who have said they would have a huge reluctance to call the rescue services, even in a genuine emergency because they don't want to be the subject of their public lynching every evening on their FB page....

They may have been completely competent and used to this and not been the ones to call the services, could have been a member of public deciding they couldn't possibly know what they are doing, and yes there are thousands of kitesurfers all over the world who can handle these conditions.

    Citibank Dublin :D

Apparently told staff to stay in until at least 5pm to get the storm passed (and not be hindered by the somehow expected flooding of their building).

Man who opened his electrical shop today in Cork rings Sean O'Rourke to complain about how he can see lots of people driving around in the storm.

    Hypocrite much?
