You're some man for the famous people. I said this to you before but Shane MacGowan is one of my musical heroes.

Ya. Shane is one of the best. As in best people. We've been good friends for over 30 years. Did you know that the 35th anniversary of the Pogues first gig was last week. 4/10/1982 in the Pindar of Wakefield.

Kathleen is South Dublin on a stick....

She lived in Howth for most of her life.

    Not South Dublin.

Shut Ray down nicely when he implied women couldn't present the Rose of Tralee

She sounds a good bit posher than Gay (which is plausible, as his own upbringing in Dublin was nearer to working class).

She comes from Saggart, her brother was a vet-aunt & uncle used his services up in Brittas on their smallhold. Gay grew up in Rialto in a "lower middle class" family.

Which according to Leo is a family with an annual income of €15 to €18,000.

"Didn't they do well" says Ray/Bruce Forsyth.

She's also a counsellor in an addiction centre after attending there herself. Was visiting a friend there. Nice lady and great for 83.

I was just thinking how emotional it must've been holding a small baby grandchild as her own two are adopted.
    Do you have a link?

Again, Ray making patronizing jokes to complete strangers - "the usual suspects" and "shur what else would you be doing on a Saturday night". It's not as bad as that week when he said something about the guy's appearance, but for complete strangers who live a completely different life to D'Arcy I find that a little odd and forward.

I often have thought how incredibly similar one of her daughters is to herself in both looks and more especially timbre of voice. I have often thought there may be a blood relationship there somewhere; of absolutely no importance but I think it's possible grandchildren may possibly share some genes.

That was terrible. He wasn't in the best of health at the time. Should never have been done.

It really annoyed me when he said 'the wife likes my pizza and that's all that matters' after going on for years about he didn't believe in marriage. I am somewhat tempted to leap into my car and go and bash him over the head with a mallet like that fairground thing where figures pop up. I was expressing this view to my boss at lunch recently who had never seen it. He threatened to confiscate my knife as Ray Darcy walked past (this is how it came up). I have just received a text from my boss saying he'll help me with ritual murder!

I thought Double Adaptors were Potential Death Traps?

RTE should ban Ray for promoting these evil devices.

    Edit: I'm not wrong

Some of the best nights out i've ever had have been seeing The Popes in the Olympia. Crazy crazy times. Yeah, Shane was past his peak and all that, but we sang for him and i just have so many funny and fond memories of those gigs.

    He's a true national treasure.

It's a social media platform like facebook or instagram except that you only approve certain groups to view your videos and pictures and also they disappear after a short while. I think there's some way people can tell if you saved or viewed the pictures/videos also.

    ...or so I've heard.

How do you get celebral palsy?

    eBay

Wtf...this D’Arcy lad is truly special.

This is what does my head in about reality tv. If they were one offs and never have to see or hear from them again, grand. But they then start getting interviewed and releasing books and stuff. Fair enough, this fella may have a point to make about disability, but reality tv is responsible for the likes of Peter Andre still being relevant in women's mags and tv interviews like this.

They were some great shows. The popes were a great live band. I was a lot more friendly with them than I was with the Pogues. Tommy (banjo) died a few years ago and Paul (guitar) was hit by a car and ended up brain damaged. He's recovering slowly. I'm in touch with Bob (bass) all the time. Top bloke.

    It was indeed said, alas.

I had a dog who had a pup with cerebral palsy. Pup had suffered oxygen deprivatikn at. Orthopaedics-I was 13 years old and have it mouth to mouth rescusitation after it was born floppy and lifeless, and it revived after 15 minutes of that plus heart massage. Grew up to be a very strong and healthy and long lived dog, albeit with cerebral palsy. True story.
