Hi .I have an old house I inherited and would like to do it up and extend property in the next couple of years. The house is worth about 80k.My earnings are in the mid 30's.How much could I borrow?I would probably need around 100k .

Credit Unions will generally do a Home Improvement loan.

My local CU (Drogheda) will want a legal charge placed on the house (in other words, they can take it if you don't pay back, like a mortgage) and they will give up to 90% of the market value of the house as a loan.
