I don't remember having so many storms in the 80's or 90's.

I remember well a run of very bad storms during the winters between 88 to 91.

It's been raining almost constantly for 12 or 14 hours here in kerry. Surely problems with flooding inevitable. Reports of road closures. Rathmore to barraduff, etc.

Much windier than Ophelia here in Achill. Wasn't expecting it to get so bad this early.

Conditions from Brian had calmed after 12.00 pm. Although windy Sun came out briefly. Thought we were in for a few hours of a regular Autumn day and even thought I might get a bit of clean up work done outside - however the wind has risen again and is gusting with heavy rain from the SW.

Of note presure had dropped to 964 aporox 7 hours ago and has now risen 16 to 980 hpa.

Won't be long till it moves out of radar range now. Still a nice shape to it.

Reading the reports and comments in this thread - is it safe to say that Brian's approach was further south than that detailed on last nights Orange Warning and didn't impact Mayo and Galway as predicted?

Not windy though? I don't often use the words "nice" and "windy" in the one sentence.

Definitely windy in Dublin, relatively speaking. It’s occasionally sunny, lots of blue skies around, but very much not a “nice” day by any stretch. Lots of misty rain blowing about, and lots of convective showers passing through.
