Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A nice little irony playing Oasis there :D

Jesus City will be devastated if Wigan ever came back up. At this stage if Wigan were given a wildcard into the champions league City would probably prefer to meet Real Madrid than them :D

Good to see Wigan doing it the right way and the referee not being influenced by Pep and his bully boy antics at half time.

Now hopefully Pep will be charged by the FA as well for his awful behaviour.

Well done Wigan. And that's the end of City and their quadruple talk.

Tell me please, what City player or manager talked about the quadruple? Pep was asked about it, and said they'd try to win all competitions we were in. I don't recollect him saying we would win all 4. Quite the opposite. He said several times that we wouldn't win them.

How did you find that out?

Decent from Paul Cook moments before the end, turning to his own subs and staff and gesturing to them to tone down the celebrations, and then he was fairly generous in the interview too.

Lol at united fans thinking they'll win it easier now wen they prob wont even beat leicester :D

Ugly scenes involving Man City supporters there, Aguero lashing out at a fan, to add to poor behaviour from Pep earlier. This is not on and the FA needs to act. A 17 point deduction should suffice.

They showed it on the BBC and Lineker pointed it out.

Could be a costly night for City

Pep going mental at ref in the tunnel

City fans throwing the advertising signs at the police

Aguero lashing out at a Wigan fan

BBC pictures. Or at least a face-off between them and the Police.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,326 ✭✭✭MayoSalmon

Not nice scenes at the end there...Aguero hitting a fan and basically chasing him trying to have a fight.

City fans throwing hoarding onto the pitch too.

Be a hefty fine coming Wigans way I would imagine.

Throwing missiles at cops. One of them was an advertising board.

Was that lash the other way around?

Plus it could be costly for Wigan, is it not the home side responsible for crowd control.

No it looked like the fan said something and Aguero struck out and hit him.

    Not a red card.

A few poor performances from City hampered them, Aguero was poor and irritated all night, Danilo, Sane, Bernardo Silva.

fans should never be allowed on, don't blame Aguero. Throwing the ad board at the fuzz was a bit saucy though.

    Agreed. Fair play to him.

If a Wigan player had made that tackle on Delph instead of the other way around did Pep would be calling for sections against all other clubs.

No it looked like the fan said something and Aguero struck out and hit him.

We don't know what might have provoked it, but Aguero clearly lashed out and caught the fan - who looked to laugh it off before Aguero had to be restrained when looking to go for him again.

It must be a hard situation to be in with all the Wigan fans on the pitch. You'd hope a player could restrain themselves in that situation though.

He has trouble coming his way I'd imagine.

Delighted another big gun is out. Cannot really feel much for Wigan. They were exceptionally awful and rode an extreme amount of luck with no obvious defence or attack. One of those few occasions where I found myself rooting for the underdog less and less as the game went on. Still cheered their goal but was far more muted than expected. Jesus, was I supporting City at the end there???
Part of me did kind of want them to get something because of their adaptation to ten men, but another part of me was really willing them out but then another part of me was looking at Wigan and going meh. Not that this sport is about deserving stuff. Results are all that matter As a neutral, these games sort of games ultimately end up being the weirdest, I enjoyed it quite a bit but I'm not sure whether I'm happy or disappointed with the result. Even though it's what I wanted to begin with.

Where are people seeing Aguero "punching" a fan? I've seen a clip on twitter where it looks like the fan swung a dig, but doesn't look like Aguero did much, except try to confront him after.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,259 ✭✭✭✭flazio

I imagine Wigan are facing a hefty fine for that pitch invasion.

Much about nothing. The fans shouldn't be on the pitch winding up players in the first place.

    "no obvious defence"..??

Their defence was outstanding tonight. They held city scoreless. That big fella Burn at the back was a colossus. I was hoping for a replay, nil all would have suited but when Wigan scored, f*ck that!, All aboard the cookie bandwagon!

BBC showed a clip. I wouldn't describe it as a punch, he swung his arm and caught the fan.

Non existent stewarding. That being said, Kun shouldn't have reacted, whatever the provocation (rumours flying around that he was spat at).
