Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The only good thing to have come out of days games is Hughes immanent sacking.

    https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jan/06/mark-hughes-speaks-defiantly-after-fa-cup-humiliation-for-stoke
Stoke sacked Mark Hughes in the immediate aftermath of the Premier League strugglers being knocked out of the FA Cup by Coventry City of League Two. A 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Jordan Willis and Jack Grimmer was the shock of the third round, but Hughes, in his 200th game in charge, was dismissed three hours after the third-round tie.

“Stoke City can confirm that the contract of manager Mark Hughes has been terminated with immediate effect,” the club said in a statement on their official Twitter feed.

Newport County 2 - 1 Leeds and it's now added time.

Red card for Leeds player and it's all kicking off.

Leeds just really don't like the FA cup.

Losing Saiz is much worse than the match

Leeds are 6th in the Championship.

    6 points off automatic promotion.

I wonder how much it means to them ?

That's the reality of the FA Cup in 2018.

It means nothing tbh, promotion is the aim sooner rather than later.

Shrewsbury giving West Ham a great game so far, best chances and they look like they want it, the Hammers don't.

    Lads, it's Arsenal.

What’s that even mean? The same Arsenal that have won 3 of the last 4 FA cups.

The Forest fans ole oleing every pass now. This is getting embarrassing for Arsenal.

Savage saying the keeper was unlucky. He wasn't just **** keeping.

    OMG! Another peno for Forest.

Can't be peno and a red

    4-2 Forest.

    Oh wait a retake?

VAR wouldn't have sorted any of those ones out.

I say pen and I say no double touch.

    Goal given!

That comes up off his right imo. Arsenal hard done by twice in a minute.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

    That's never a peno.

It's a stone waller. Tackle from behind and he goes through the players leg first before getting the ball. He should have been sent off, never mind just getting a yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,287 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

With VAR that would have been hard to call both for pen and if it is a goal

He was making an attempt to play the ball that is a yellow in the new laws

No he didn't. The first touch knocks the ball back in to the player.

Oh yeah, is that a new rule in this season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Thought it was right to give the penalty but it definitely was 2 touches. You can tell by the spin on the ball

Not for me I thought he got the ball first. It looked like a double touch for me. The ball seems to slightly change direction.

Yeah it was considered too harsh to lose a player as well I think. Or is it only for keepers. Have to look it up.

    edit all players.

    Arsenal miss from a yard.

Ya are they not seeing the ball change direction. I thought I was going mad.

No he didn't. The first touch knocks the ball back in to the player.

He's gone through the players right leg first before making contact with the ball.

Anyway, in real time as it happens it looked a clear penalty and that's all the ref can go on.
