I listened to the songs scheduled tonight and Cyprus and Belgium have impressed me the most. Keen to see how they do live as I've avoided watching the rehearsals.

Can't see the Irish song making it through. I don't see it standing out in this field.

I don't think Finland would even be a shock NQ? They've been on shaky ground for weeks now.

Twitter rumours are stating that apparently Netta hasn't been going down well with the juries, no idea whether or not that could true but wouldn't surprise me if it was. I've never thought of it being a winner, or that the juries would go for it.

Shocked at Cyprus becoming the new favourite to win, although everything could still change after both semi's have aired.

Semi Final 1 predicted qualifiers are
    Israel
    Cyprus
    Czech Republic
    Estonia
    Bulgaria
    Greece
    Austria
    Lithuania
    Armenia
    Belgium

So that would mean Finland, Croatia, Azerbaijan and Ireland all out (as well as my beloved Macedonia).
    So we will see!

I've been working out who I think will qualify and I have 8 of the above 10 there. I didn't have Lithuania or Armenia - instead I went with Finland and Azerbaijan.

Thik he said the loverly FYROM lady farted in her video, then went cranky during 2nd rehersals and damaged his back in the previous rehersal, so won't be dancing much for finals. Still, the teenage girls will send some votes his way.

Same price as Josef, and probably one of the lower risk entrants might be Bulgaria, very atmospheric and bucket loads of harmonies. Also, 5pl are now available.
That was Benjamin Ingrosso who said that.

He's also said that he would do the backflip if he gets through to the final.

I saw on Twitter that the World Jewish Council are asking European friends to give Netta points. It will be interesting to see how she does in light of the boycotts which are being promoted.

    5/2 cyprus wtf!!
    4/1 israel

personally I think both of these might bomb, all I see is a hot babe singing an average dance tune

am seeing odds of close to 300/1 back in march on them

Europop SF-1 8pm+ Azerbijiggystan to open.

Note: Not fussed at all on Estonia, but markets have ranked it top 5.
Opera is marmite to many folks. Prefer to keep glassware intact.

10th place's golden ticket will be fought over immensely, 5-way battle.
Politics and patterns wil likely influce play, Austria has 8 neighbouring countries.
Lithuania is currently trending, visions of Eastern-block phone lines getting busy.

Forgot to comment on the much-hyped Bulgarian release. I like it, but feels like they tried a bit too hard? Staging will make it or break it I feel. Not sure how it'll work with five of them on stage.

So, who are we predicting to qualify from the semi's?

I don't think SF1 is quite the bloodbath people are making out. I have Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Israel and probably Greece as definite qualifiers, I'm throwing Armenia and Azerbaijan in there as well because they almost always qualify. The two remaining two spots are a bit difficult to predict, Finland should be safe if they improve on that utter mess of a national final performance. Austria and Cyprus are both doing well in the fan polls but I can't really see it with either. Lithuania is sweet and has a certain charm, and Macedonia is really growing on me. I wouldn't even completely rule out Ireland if they get the staging right. So, my pre-Eurovision week prediction to make the final from SF1:

    To qualify
    Belgium
    Bulgaria
    Czech Republic
    Estonia
    Israel
    Greece
    Armenia
    Azerbaijan
    Finland
    Lithuania

    Missing out:
    Austria
    Cyprus
    Ireland
    Macedonia
    Albana
    Belarus
    Iceland
    Croatia
    Switzerland

Iceland and Switzerland are the only complete no-hopers imo, the others you can make some case for. Will post my thoughts on SF2 later.

Wow, think this may need a revisit! Cyprus probably not gonna miss out given they're the new favourite to win :pac: Croatia getting a lot of positive feedback as well. Finland I don't think will make it either. Have resisted watching any rehearsals so haven't seem them live yet, will make a final prediction when the voting opens later.

Just sounds better that way, and my spellchecker on Firefox has gone to pot.

FYROM have drifted way out to 500/1. If they get their slot just after a mid-way break position 11/19, it might help slightly.

Viewer fatigue might set in for the 12-18 slots, with audience switch back for Cyprus and the important televote info.

One of Azerbaijans weaker entries in recent years. And defo one of the weaker songs in this semi. Be surprised if it qualifies.

Not mimed, as couple of flat notes.

She sang about tearing down the firewalls,
the IT dept would not recommend this action.
