I think the jury votes were fair enough the public votes ruined the thing as far as I'm concerned . Lacks complete transparency and you have songs the juries virtually ignored propelled to decent spots.

Terrible song won it , utter tripe .
With juries only we won it like 5 years in a row and came second when Norway won with an Irish violinist solo that got the rules changed

    I kinda like it, sorry.

Anyway, the same kind of song rarely wins two years in a row. Last year was all earnestness and this year, eh, isn't

No time for Israel in politics.

But. This is a good Eurovision song. It’s crap but most of them are.

The disappointing thing is that it was a vintage year, with plenty of good songs, as illustrated by the well-spread vote of the juries. And then average Joe went and voted for that tosspottage. Some consolation in how well the Italians did, but that's about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,394 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

That was a crap song. I mean in the list of songs that have won in recent years it's a crap song. I mean were people that tone deaf ? Woeful stuff. I like the fact that the judges vote helps shake things up. I mean any number of songs tonight had better songs in terms of overall vocal talent.

I know some people hate the winner, but to me, she's perfectly what Eurovision is. Happy enough.

Nightmare for the organisers next year though

Yup, it's a Eurovision song through and through.

First time I've called it, I think!

    Yeah, Israel is Diverse....

Have you ever been there? It is a very diverse country. Visited Tel Aviv ten years ago and it was the most openly gay city I have ever visited. They were accepting diversity well before Ireland was.

Isn't there some kind of rule for blatantly sampling other songs, bastardised seven nation army.

She whinged about her weight and struggles with it and body shaming in every interview I saw. Which are terrible things but I got the impression it was being milked which is far worse

Well Ireland's performance was very contrived to milk a certain vote, a lot more than anything she may have said.

I'm watching the 1981 Eurovision. Haven't had a lot of interest in the whole thing since 2012. Great songs back then and a great show. Gonna watch on Saturday night. If Israel win, I'll burn the house down.

it's hard to know if if it will go close or completely bomb
I'm thinking it might finish outside the top three but I could be miles out there
still dont get the cyprus odds, this for me is the worst favourite in many a year

at 6/1 there's worse bets than israel when it was less than 2s up till a few days ago

I kept backing estonia but israel just saved me

    Lyrics of TOY
    English (Original)
Look at me, I'm a beautiful creature
    I don’t care about your modern-time preachers
Welcome boys, too much noise, I will teach you
Pam pam pa hoo, Turram pam pa hoo

Hey, I think you forgot how to play
    My teddy bear's running away
The Barbie got something to say: Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! My "Simon says" leave me alone
    I'm taking my Pikachu home
You're stupid just like your smart phone

Wonder woman, don't you ever forget
You're divine and he's about to regret
    His baka-bakum, bak-bak bakumbai…

    I’m not your toy
    You stupid boy
    I'll take you down
    I'll make you watch me
    Dancing with my dolls
    On the MadaBaka Beat
    Not your toy!

    A-A-A-Ani Lo buba!
Don't you go and play with me boy!
    A-A-A-Ani Lo buba!
Don't you go and play… Shake!
Kulului, Kulului, Ah, wedding bells ringing
Kulului, Kulului, Ah, money man bling-bling
I don't care about your 'stefa', baby
Pam pam pa hoo, Turram pam pa hoo

Wonder woman, don't you ever forget
You're divine and he's about to regret
    His baka-bakum…bak-bak bakumbai…

    I’m not your toy
    You stupid boy
    I'll take you down
    I'll make you watch me
    Dancing with my dolls
    On the MadaBaka Beat
    Not your toy

Just when you thought the world hated Israel.

    Don’t be fooled.

U think anyone who's spending money voting on this could even find Israel on a map, nevermind have a clue of the history of the 70 year old 'country'
