Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Because you cant get .5 of a goal so it obviously means you have to get 1 more

    Makes no sense whatsoever.

I'd guess it's something to do with handicaps.

It's always the way with those bets, so you can't score exactly that amount of goals.

Why not say 7 goals or more, or 8 or more?

I believe it's just there purely for absolute clarity in the wording of the bet.

Arguing about how bookies frame markets - must be a good sign.

    I'm bored

    Solanke on.

No nothing to do with handicaps (unless your talking about the bookmaker themselves)

Some bets can often be a little confusing with wording.

for example - Liverpool more than 4 goals

Does that mean 4 goals or 5??

But writing - Liverpool over 4.5 goals makes it clear and definite.

That is probably a poor example but there are loads of bets that might not be obvious in meaning to unseasoned punters. So precision in wording is necessary.

I mean if it says (and it does) over 4.5 goals then you cant exactly, not know what they are on about

Oof, Ox really had the chance there to open his account. Probably should have put that away.

yeah, and it also helps for shorthand in advertising bets... for instance 6+ goals could easily be taken as "6 or more", or as "more than 6". Whereas 5.5+ can only mean "6 or more".

I'm annoyed that Klopp clearly (?) isn't aware of the 8-0, he really should be using games like this to set records and boost the teams confidence.

    7-0 OG

There is a dying wasp in the commentary position.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

The 8 is on now anyway!

Why is stoppage time always shorter when teams get hammered?

About time we totally smashed a team up in this way.

I'm being positive - but we could catch European teams a bit more than domestically.

In premier league we are sussed.

But is not all set by rules. 30 seconds for goal, sub etc.

Imagine if Liverpool were chasing down a score for in a final group game, needing to win 8 nil to go through for example.

Look you are technically right , but human nature and subjectivity comes into it.

    It shouldn't but it does.

It wasn't last game - he went up to what 1:56 or so ?

It maybe different if there is something riding on the team needing so many goals.

But since it is head to head then that is very unlikely

Poor post. All Liverpool fans want him to do well, lots though don't think he will do.

I've been critical of him, but he did well in his few minutes against Utd, much more impressed with that than him finishing this tonight, although happy that he did as it might give him confidence. It's still early for him, but I can't see him getting a starting berth regularly unless were bad with injuries.
