The only tie of the evening without a goal.

    #mourinho_effect

Blind and Mikhi are rank bad.

Watched a good bit of United over the last year, don't get the hype around Rashford really, another poor effort tonight. Still very young of course but still.

    They've been space jammed

Muck. As a neutral I absolutely hate Mourinho.

This has no5hing to do with Mourinho in the way that you are insinuating. The players are just playing ****.

Benfica could play all night and they won't score unless it's a fluke while Utd will be happy with the point at worst.

They had a nice rhythm going before the international break, whether they have lost that during this period or the tactics deployed against Liverpool have had a negative effect its hard to say. But they look extremely ordinary since then.

After all the free flowing football so far this season this week is finally giving the ABUs something to talk about

Was hard to keep up with all the 4-0 wins

Especially when you have to play some half decent sides.

Same thing. Defo a more defensive slant against Liverpool but it wasn't a complete bus park. The players were also atrocious.

It's that and a combination of a morale victory Saturday in conjunction with 7th heaven against Slovenias finest that has them on a high

Makes sense to jump in here with no objective look at the game, juat nonsense narritve

Mourinho will be blamed for this, but the players are just playing shíte.

Lukaku has also been off the boil the last couple of games, and without that focal point, all Mourinho teams struggle.

Is there anyone on boards who has an objective look at anything?

I'd like to think the purpose of discussing soccer would be objective

Yawn. How much did Palace beat Chelsea by again? This whole top half/bottom half nonsense is annoying on their day anyone can beat anyone.

We know Liverpool are rubbish. We're just putting title contenders Manchester United under the microscope, what with them currently playing and this being their match thread.

  • Cynical on rashford

That was some drag down from Goncalves

Better from United, they have more than enough to win this game. Benfica are very ordinary.

  • Miki off please

And Herrera if we had someone to replace him

    Get in

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Football by numbers. But hey; they won two trophies playing that way last season. So it's hard to knock it too much. The end justifies the means.

  • Get it lol

    Goal was coming I'd say

    Utd were on top

Give me wins and trophies over "entertaining" football any day! I get my kicks from "W"'s!

Feel so bad for the young GK!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

Actually feel bad for the keeper. Type of thing that can ruin the confidence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,641 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Poor Kid, hope it doesnt shatter his confidence

Clever from Rashford to spot him so far off the line to be fair. Probably inspired by Gary Mac against Everton.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Keeper should have learned from the previous time he did it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,989 ✭✭✭BenK

Mkhitaryan has been poor tonight. Giving the ball away far too easily.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,737 ✭✭✭Hococop

Thinking the same, only 18 could do alot to his confidence hopefully the fans don't get on him over it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

Bizarre goal I'm surprised the keeper didn't try punch it clear I think he just lost all intuition of where he was on the pitch.

They gave him a round of applause which he acknowledged seconds after it happened :)
