Query regarding Electric Stove

I just got an electric stove, small one, attaching pic. Just noticed on the instructions that it is stated never to use an extension lead with it. Is this vitally important? There's a black cable running from it but because my socket is up high it looks really ugly. Was hoping to hide it with a bit of white trunking along…

There's a black cable running from it but because my socket is up high it looks really ugly. Was hoping to hide it with a bit of white trunking along the skirting board and up the corner of the wall, over the worktop and attaching it to extension lead which would be hidden from view.
