Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You'd wonder watching Liverpool why Klopp didn't invest in starting defenders the Summer gone by.

like how many chances have spurs had

is incredible to let 4 goals in

Being cut open and gifting goals aren't mutually exclusive. Generally one will be a result of the other.

As bad as this is, I'd genuinely still rather play a bit of football and get a beating than throw ten men behind the ball and pray for a draw.

Hahahahaha .A draw away to Spurs would have been a good reault for Pool but you'd rather get a hammering :o

    Such nonsense .

Is he capable of doing it though?

I think he is but he also needs the owners financial backing which I don''t think has been there.

He did, Robertson, he's played a handful of games for some reason.

The only consolation for Liverpool is they've faced all the current top 8 aside from Chelsea, should get easier.

Certain sides are yet to face even 1 of those.

Neville running with £40m for Ox where does that extra £5m come from?

What about using the money the spent on Oxlade-Chamberlin to buy a centre back instead?

Wouldn't rather lose, of course, but I'd rather try to win. Big difference there pal.

Why are we pretending that money is the reason we didnt buy a goalkeeper or centre halve.

    We spent 40m on Ox.

Spurs' wage bill is half of Liverpool's.

It just reinforces how bad the latter's investment plan has been.

That's not even close to being true

Robsrtson must be a dud if Moreno is getting game's ahead of out.Kloop needed a CB,FB,Keeper and a defensive midfielder yet spent the money on Ox and Salah. The right thing to do was fix it from the backline out.

I have to admit, I'm surprised to read all the Klopp negativity in this thread considering he was heralded as the second coming almost not that long ago.

I suppose I'd be more of a casual fan (I don't get to watch football much anymore - as I type this I'm sitting in the car listening to the coverage on Newstalk) but Liverpool's defence has been a shambles for years over several managers. The other thing I'd say is that they always make life harder on themselves by sitting back and inviting the opposition onto them, and it's been like that too for years.

I'm genuinely curious though. How much can one manager do in that environment?

So you have to question who bought him?

I think that's a little harsh. He's good for the odd flash of brilliance but he doesn't control games, something you'd expect a world class player to do.

Yes he still does magic .

but watch on breaks from other team

he doesn't try or press anymore.

A large element of playing football involves defending.

Awaiting the day Klopp spends a mental amount on a CB and the clangers still happen because he has no clue how to organise a defence.

Coming from people looking to stir the pot

Not at all. Defensive issues and a too lax attitude have been factors of Liverpool play for years now.. Long before Klopp.

I'm genuinely curious what can be done considering the competition and money among the biggest clubs in the League

Lads it's Spurs...They're a really good team and will put a few other teams to the sword at Wembley this season.

Beating Huddersfield at home is arguably more of a barometer of the season ahead.

Best player on park Salah .

    Spurs got 4 free goals.

You only have to look at Spurs or Newcastle or United or City to see how to defend. Video is available ! WTF
It's like we are trying to uncover the secret of defending when it's right in front of us.

I don't know, are error looked decent in his starts, to say he's not proving it in training must mean Lovren is putting in Baresi levels of training performances!

The again I don't Liverpool train the defence.
