Tried calling them plenty today, got stuck between their lunch call and their staff training message! Pressing 1 and 5 over and over again!

Shall try again in the morning!

I was thinking that switching to Fri/Sat gigs would be pretty perfect tbh, but given the amount of clashes, it’s a bit of a disaster.

    just got a refund there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,469 ✭✭✭Shedite27

Yup, got my refund for the Friday tickets too, then went and bought better seats for the Saturday.

Just filled out a form to get the refund

I bought tickets when this was first announced and selected the ticketfast option. I went to print them today. I followed the link in the original confirmation email but it's just showing the tickets with no option to print. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm looking to swap two Saturday tickets for Friday tickets. I'm going to the National on Saturday. Anybody have any luck trying that so far?

Why don’t you just get a refund for your Saturday tickets and buy tickets for the Friday?

Obviously make sure you can get tickets for the Friday first. Either way it’d probably be easier buying than swapping.

Ticketmaster will swap them for you because it's been rescheduled. I rang them and they did it for me.

Show is at 8pm sharp. That's according to a stage times email I just received which clearly gave no info!

I would say that Eugene Mirman will be on at 8-8.30 and FOTC will be on at 9pm.

Whilst I don't doubt you, I'll be shocked if that's the case.

There's a surprise "big-ish name" support act tonight.

Avoid Twitter if you want it to remain a surprise. I reckon that's why they're suggesting people go in for 8.

I've seen the name and will be going in for 8.

Thanks and thanks for not ruining it. Looking forward to it!

Caught the end of DOD. Kinda wish I knew and I would have rushed! Great gig overall. Nice mix of old and new. I've always thought of them as comedians first and foremost but they're clearly very talented musicians too.

    That poor guy from Belfast!

I'm actually surprised at how good that was. I was expecting a couple of new songs and then to go through "the hits", but the amount of new stuff they did and the fact it was all brilliant made for a great gig. Anyone going tonight, you're in for a treat!

I'm glad I hadn't looked up any of their newer stuff prior to going too. It's first and foremost a comedy gig, which doesn't really work if you already know all the punchlines.

No David O'Doherty last night, pity.

Was it just longer of the Bob's burger guy? I didn't find him particularly funny.

You must have missed him mate, he was the 2nd support. On stage for maybe 20-25mins....too short but gas!

Does anyone else think €78 was a bit expensive for tickets? Last gig I went to in the Point was less than 60 and more bang for buck.

Enjoyed the night out but found it a bit underwhelming for what it was. Better the last time I saw them, in the Olympia I think.

Yeah for something like FOTC that's so vitally important that you can hear the words clearly, a large arena like that isn't great

We somehow got lucky and got the cheap €28 tickets. View was fine, but the sound was far too quiet.

They seemed to be about 5% of the seats though. Think €78+ is a bit steep.

I thought it was totally worth the money, the sound in the flat seating was perfect and I smiled from the moment David O'Doherty came on until the moment FOTC got off stage. I was totally whelmed. :)

Gotta agree with this. Loved the gig, but missed some of the lines due to crowd noise. Would have preferred FOTC to be louder so I could hear them better. I had though it was just me getting old! :)

Was expecting great things for this gig and my expectations were surpassed, they were brilliant. Had me in stitches from beginning to end.
    Some observations though:

    - Eugene Mirman really split the crowd. Some were laughing their heads off, most were unfortunately stonefaced throughout.

    - I've never seen a busier merchandise stand. They must have cleaned up.

    - People's inability to not take a pîss for the show was embarrassing. The amount of people who left towards the end of Bowie for the toilet was ridiculous. The desire of some people to get so loaded at a fully seated gig and need multiple toilet breaks was infuriating.

    - No matter how much you ask people not to take photos or record gigs, Irish people won't stop and are determined to take shîtty quality pics or videos.

-FOTC old material was an absolute treat and seeing it live was a pleasure.

-FOTC new material was brilliant and their 'anecdotes' were hysterical. Their stage presence is brilliant despite their softly spoken nature. The self deprecation is as brilliant as it ever was.

-I did think it was an incredible show but they are definitely more suited to a venue like the Olympia where I last saw them. I've been to so many comedy gigs in the 3Arena and very rarely have they suited the venue.

Overall, cracking show. Delighted that I was able to go.

YES, this really grated with me too. come on lads and lassies, surely you can hold it in for the duration of the show.

other than that though, i really enjoyed it. DOD was very good, thought bobs burger guy had his moments too.
