GDPR eBook

    Hi

I recently put together a GDPR eBook which is available at no cost and comes with no restrictions.

The motivation for this was the lack of an existing free GDPR eBook with articles and associated recitals.

I've updated the original version to include some guidelines from the Article 29 Working Party such as
    • Guidelines on the right to data portability
    • Guidelines on Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)
    • Guidelines on Data Protection Officers (‘DPOs’)

I'll be continuing to add Article 29 Working Party output so that it should, in time, be a pretty comprehensive GDPR reference.

You can get the latest version here : https://gdprebook.wordpress.com/2017/10/22/the-gdpr-ebook/

I hope some people find it useful.

    Regards

    Liam

I haven't read it but looks fairly comprehensive, thanks for that.

The GDPR eBook has been updated to v 1.4.

The following guidelines have been added :
    • Guidelines for identifying a controller or processor’s lead supervisory authority
    • Guidelines on Personal data breach notification
    • Guidelines on the application and setting of administrative fines

It can be downloaded from http://www.gdpr-ebook.eu/

I've also added an article on Consent and a few GDPR-related mindmaps to the site.

    Excellent book. Thanks.

I've just completed a Data Protection Practice course with the Law Society and found your book very helpful.

    Thanks Liamo.

suggestion - I went straight ahead and downloaded v1.2 from the first link assuming that this would have the latest - some might miss your second link. Maybe swap original wordpress link to your website now.

    (Unless I've missed something).

    Hi

Thanks for the heads-up on this.

I'm unable to modify the original post - probably because too much time has elapsed since its creation. However, I've modified the Wordpress content to point the download link to the main site at www.gdpr-ebook.eu so that problem is now addressed.

I'll be working on the book again shortly to add in some newly adopted guidelines and I'm going to add the recitals in their own section as well so that they can be read in isolation from the articles.

I'll probably update it next week with those changes.

Thanks for your very helpful input.

    Regards

    Liam

Ironically the 'eBook' itself is not served over a TLS connection

    http://www.gdpr-ebook.eu

With all the malware and the weaknesses in publishing systems such as PDF, stuff like this should have an EV certificate to show the authenticity of the source.

Perhaps you're right. I suppose you get what you pay for. Oh, wait ....

    You're welcome, by the way.
