    A more apt title.

FYI Cursed weapons altho lethal take 2 3rds of your health away.

I am hunting the bounty hunters at level 28 have 3 of them dead, they are quite hard to fight and if others come to help them.....Run!!!

The weapons you get from the deluxe edition can be troublesome I had a side quest to retrieve a horse that was stolen during an escort and knocked the guy off but inadvertently poisoned the horse too was wondering why he was moving so slowly before he collapsed dead from under me :D

Yeah I slayed a guy harassing a citizen and ended up poisoning and killing the citizen... Whoops.

    There's ten altogether unfortunately/fortunately!

Two of them cross paths a bit and if you get caught in that sandwich, just say goodnight.

Any idea on size? I'm still using mobile internet since my broadband is down so have to weigh up whether it will be worth a download.

14 I think the last one I got was for hitting level 20. Thats from about 20 hours play haven't even gone after the second batch of targets yet.

Smoke bombs mentioned in the patch , lets hope they actually work now. They've been horribly inconsistent.

EDIT: Wish they'd patch out the cursor on the title screen menu it's bloody annoying

Exact same situation as myself, I’m obsessively ticking off every quest and question mark in a region before I move onto the next one, those other targets aren’t going anywhere. Want to squeeze every last drop out of the game but I know I’ll get bored of that at some stage and just plough through it.

Yeah and theres an achievement/trophy for completing all locations , I zoomed out the map earlier and I have 6 areas done with the rest grey still, about 20 left ???? This might be a grind too far even for me.

Have to say I'm loving this. Arsing around Alexandria on me camel, actually do you have to buy horses or will the story provide me with one?

I'm really liking the sidequests, nice variety and uniqueness to the ones I've done so far.

Combat is tough with 4+ enemies, as it should be really but there is a nice selection of weapons on hand.

Whole thing is a breath of fresh air to the series, thanks to those on here who recommended it.

I like this but after 30 hours the combat is utter bull****.

I guess its trying to be like the witcher and/or forcing you to stealth everything, the game needs to pick one you cant have both. Then it puts you in a room with 2 shield lads and your shield literally doesnt work, parry is a myth and rolling behind stops working later in the game. Also I can be hit from any lad a level above on a horse whilst im rolling around and instakilled.

I think I am decent at 3rd person combat games but AC:O doesnt have a functioning version of combat. It has ideas but it doesnt really pick one, either be weak and awesome at stealth or be The Witcher and fight 30 dudes at the same time. There really isnt an inbetween.

This is a very good game that has learned from its own series mistakes and from The Witcher and RDR and does make a more than decent attempt at delivering something, linking side quests, characters other than mains you recall the name off. it ticks off a lot of boxes in the story area and interest level is kept high.

But combat is utter bull**** :D

Agreed, I also miss how they handled swapping tools in previous games too. The dodge is rubbish and stuff like hanging from a ledge and whistling doesn't seem to work very well either and on more than one occasion I've been seen by an enemy who must have had X-Ray specs.

Haven't tried smoke bombs since the patch but they just did not work as advertised.

My muscle memory keeps telling my fingers to bate the X/Square button. So I just keep dodging, rather than attacking :D

Has anyone checked the menu for a way to rebind, or go to a "Classic" configuration?

Combat is ok as long as you don't get outnumbered and keep upgrading your stuff. Have to say the races are garbage.

thinking of picking this up on PS4 ( ive a pro) ,should i hold off or are the bugs tolerable?

Miss being able to roll.. that would have improved combat..

Black flag was the most fun game to play yet in my opinion, sailing around blowing up bays and ships beats the hell out of galloping around on horses and carriages.. Theres then all the assassiny stuff :P

Syndicate is alright also, i wouldnt bother with III unless you plan on playing I and II also

I just got credited a gift card of £15 due to an amazon **** up on my last delivery, so im thinking ill pick this game up now, it works out at €35, be rude not to :P

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,710 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

Thanks for that,so i thought id download black flag, clicked download from my games section in uplay and it brings me to steam to buy lol.

Why is it listed in my games in uplay ?

Not sure mate, did you buy it previously? The only AC game i got free on uplay was ACIII, not sure if black flag was ever given free, then again im not the one to ask, i uninstall uplay at any opportunity given :p

So amazon were doing a £5 bonus of gift card top ups over £25, i noticed when going to the check out with AC Origins. So decided to partake..

I topped up £26, + the bonus which brought it to £31, plus the goodwill gesture of £15 they gave me earlier to make it £46.00 to pay for the game. But the sneaky bastards added in vat at the end bringing it up to £47 so had to go to the card for another £1

So there i paid £27.00 for AC Origins limited edition, works out at €30 roughly :)

Not a bad days savings, now just to find a good new telly to enjoy it on (ive been hunting for the right bargain the last week or two)
