Interesting thread on the Consumer Issues forum relating to the long-term under-billing of a customer of yours. See http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057802483 . This is not the first time this issue has arisen on boards so it seems to beg the question, does Electric Ireland's automatic billing system generate any flag in the case where a serious billing correction is made, resulting in an unexpected bill for 1000's of euros? If not, then why not?!

    Hi Escapees,

Thank you for getting in touch.

The meter reading type is always shown on the bill.

Should a bill be estimated, this would be stated on the invoice in red writing, encouraging the customer to submit a meter reading to ensure accuracy. This text also always shows how many previous bills were based on an estimated reading.

If a customer has any queries about their Electric Ireland bill, they can contact us by phone (1850 372 372), email (service@electricireland.ie) or by Social Media (Twitter, Facebook or Boards).

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,
    Anna
