2-4-2, 1,3,3,1 and now 1322. When will it end.

Frightening story really. Also shows why the HIA protocol needs to be used properly and not abused in the name of winning.

Serious Cross-field kick in the Ulster Bank League between Thomond and Malahide

Massive shock in the AP today with Worcester winning 6-5 in Exeter.

With only 8 games left in the season, it pretty much condemns London Irish to relegation again. They'd need to win about 4 of their remaining games to leapfrog Worcester at this point and hope Worcester get no more wins.

Anyone watching Quins v Wasps? In 90 seconds Kyle Eastmond hit two separate Harlequins players with swinging arm tackles direct to the head.

Got a red for the second tackle on Marcus Smith, but the first could easily have been one too.

It's constantly changing, england playing a 1-2-2-2-1 system based around smaller shapes, NZ playing an even more fluid 1-6-1 which constantly morphs and changes depending on defence and personnel

Harlequins are awful. They're losing 22-44 at home against a side who've been down to 14 since the 20th minute.

Interview with Sam Warburton on the extent of his injuries and his history. The bloke will be in a wheelchair by 50 if he keeps going.

Will Greenwood tweeting that he's been seriously impressed by Earls this season, best he's seen him play and his weekend column is dedicated to him it seems

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,762 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

It's probably the best he's seen him play because he's getting a decent run at it. Was it 2 years ago that himself and Fitzy were, by a distance, the form wingers in the country? And then both got injured in the weeks leading up to the 6Ns. It isn't the first time Earls has been in this kind of form, but it's certainly the first time in a long time he's been able to show it over a decent period of time.

France have dropped the players who were involved in the altercation in Edinburgh after the Scotland game. They are Teddy Thomas, Lamerat, Picamoles, Belleau, Danty, Iturria, Lambery, Lapandry and Macalou.

So their only attacking threat from the opening fixtures in Thomas is gone as is their best centre in Lamerat and starting second row in Iturria.

Wow - Italy have a real chance here then. France haven't played poorly but that will be a lot of disruption in the new team.

Jeepers. I thought they had been largely exonerated from that incident but maybe there was a bit more too it.

On the one hand, Lancaster did a bit of a house cleaning with England that has been bearing fruit ever since. Maybe France need to do the same but then can they really afford to drop these guys.

Why can't this stuff happen before we play France. They won't pose a threat for the remainder at this rate.

I was wondering if there would be any fallout... but this seems excessive to say the least..no crime was committed,.....is this the French federation's decision or the new coach laying down the law ?

The official line is they've been dropped for going out without permission from management.

There were reports initially that some of them had allegedly been involved in an altercation and had sustained some minor injuries (cuts/bruises). So whilst no crimes may have been committed as such (or ones worth being charged over), they certainly would have broken a code of conduct if those reports were true.

Failing that, there may well have been a curfew on the players for returning to their hotel and also the expectation that they wouldn't be out drinking until the small hours in the middle of the 6N.

I imagine they'll be brought back in for England and Wales after being suitably chastised by being dropped against Italy. If they aren't, it will probably be a Slam or nothing for us because I can see Wales and England picking up a bunch of points against them.

Amazing the damage these guys do to their bodies, it must be scarey to think of life in their 50's and 60's.

I don't see Yacouba Camara's name in the above list of banned players...he was reported as being one of the players questioned?

He was but it turns out he wasn't involved.
