Training block has gone pretty well. I've given myself every chance I think, will give it a proper rattle and see what happens :)
Good man, Healy. It wouldn't be a table without a 2.59.59 Best of luck.

Exactly what the local Dutch forecast is giving for next Sunday.

I hope thats what we get but its tracking much like last year, i wouldnt underestimate the impact of even mid-teen heat at noon in the park. Worth bringing sunblock and a peaked hat to put sponges in. Every heart beat per minute counts.

Fingers crossed it comes to nothing

Any recommendations re. a good brand of sunblock?

It's not cheap, but P20 is pretty good, in that it bonds with the skin, rather than sitting on the skin like a cream. It doesn't come off with sweating, and doesn't run into your eyes. P20 is a brand by the way - don't mistake it for factor 20. It comes in various SPF varieties.

In theory you should be able to pick some up in Dublin Airport, but should be able to find it in Rotterdam too.

I find it helps pass the time between 5:30am and 'run-time'. Accuweather is an awful website. WeatherUnderground keeps insisting on giving me everything in foreign money, but does have the best hourly outlook. BBC weather is nice for a 2nd (5th opinion), but YR.no is the ol' reliable.

The thing to do is check what time each one updates, and then you can cycle through them as needed.

(WeatherUnderground has a settings button in the top right corner to convert to real temperatures, 11 at 10am, going up one degree an hour. Although getting the C temperatures straight away like that means you don't get to spend time on the conversion, which means more time to wait for the next update)

I was a total yr.no fan but must admit that darksky.net is getting some of my attention recently. No problems with sun next Sunday according to them.

Well, no problems with the sun for fast people!

For my part, I'm a bit reluctant to commit a time to the table. Training has been up and down and I've no previous record to base things on anyway.

My two children have decided to catch a virus for the mid-term break. Doctor emphasised that this wasn't hugely serious but said "contagious" far too many times for my liking. Even if I don't catch something myself, my day-release is likely to be viewed much more negatively. I may end up travelling there on the morning instead, which wouldn't be ideal.

I'm hoping to dip under 3:20, but I think I'll have to play it cautiously.

Managed a short run yesterday and felt good.

Pain in my knee, ball of my foot feels like there's something embedded in it. I'm sniffly and my 4 year old has the chicken pox. 11km scheduled for yesterday abandoned after 2
Standard final week taper so (apart from the chicken pox)

Your 4 year old definitely shouldn't run it all out, maybe use it as a training run and consider doing Cork. Otherwise sounds like regular taper madness. Have a great race :)
