Hi, I am a chartered accountant working in industry. My job(multinational) requires tax knowledge and i'll be taking on new roles in a group global tax reconcilaitions, local tax planning and returns. I will be mentored but want to take on tax exams to better my knowledge and compliemtn my work.
I am wondering which course would be better CTC or CTA? I know its been asked before but those threads are old and am wondering what peoples opinions are now that CTC has been around a few years now.
My questions are is CTC in dept enough and is CTA too in-dept for me?
    Any opinions welcome.

Sorry can't comment on the two above courses but I did the Diploma in Taxation included below and found it good when I took over tax work in my company. A lecture who does both this and the CTC recommended doing the Diploma as it covers all the major Irish points and there was no exams.

Is there much work involved in the assignments? Looking at signing up for this course starting next month - distance learning. did you do class based or online?

I did the class based course. A bit of work involved with the assignments all right. There was three of them and I probably spent the most of a weekend and a few evenings on each one.
