Thast healing potion spooked me a little, but maybe things like that are common in these adventures.

Updated world map, with Nír's temple and some other bits.

Red Line is the border of the Zassan empire.

Red Line near Soetrard is its formal borders, although its language is spoken all the way to Clayton.

Sazus and Qaban are walled fortress towns.

    100 XP from Adept
    250 XP from Orc fight
    44 XP from Zombies
    1,425 XP from Tomb Entrance

    so 3444XP, you're level 3.

No clue what XP I'm on but I must be close to level 3 I think.

Probably could've used a thief to check for traps last night. Ah well, I'll do it now.

Holy **** I forgot! Eh! Starting now of course.

sKeith, yep I can definitely check for stuff like this:
Due to their habit of living underground in great mines,
dwarves have the ability to see in the dark with infravision up
to 60 feet. From their experience underground, dwarves have
a 2 in 6 (1-2 on 1d6) chance of detecting traps, false walls,
hidden construction, or noticing if passages are sloped.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,021 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

The added bonus for thief class is they can try to remove them once detected

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,558 ✭✭✭✭Fourier

Regarding what the thief can do, it is very ambiguous from the books. It is:

    (a) Everybody except the Dwarf has a 1 in 6 chance of finding a trap.
    (b) Dwarf has 2 in 6
    (c) Thief has an extra percentile based ability to find traps, which they can use in addition to the generic ability above in (a).
    (d) Certain traps can only be found with (c), for (a) and (b) it is impossible.

The description of the staircase does not say up or down. Necro just assumed down, in my mind i just assumed up. Does it matter if we say go up the staircase or down the staircase? Its harder to climb, so going up is good for rertreating as we can flee easier downstairs than up them.

I just looked into the room for a better description as I have my infravision so more will become clear I'd say

Funny, I had pictured them going up too.
    Maybe they do both?
    :O

harder to fight backing down the stairs than backing up...

FYI, i think the sacks are unnecessary, they are a relic of the other encumbrance system.

True, higher ground should gain advantages.

When Elin starts demanding her share and I have no sack to put her in, I'll be taking your share. Deal?

Yes, bring two, for double bagging.

Busy at the moment, so just a quick one, the stairs go up and down. I'll give a more detailed description soon.

Elin is being a stubborn teenager and refusing to take any treasure. So go nuts lads. It's all yours.

Duly noted and added to my kickass map. I had assumed just down direction actually.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,021 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

I assumed down as my assumption of all dungeons are they go down initially.

Cannot wait for this evening and some dungeon exploration tbh! I'll be home at 7, laptop on, fire on and D&D for the night.

My wife will be delighted :pac:

I might be a bit off-n-on this evening, but sure that's no harm given I've nearly gotten myself killed 2 nights running. Assume I'm in the 2nd line slinging bullets and 4th-wall-breaking comments for all I'm worth and trying to feed my pencil every chance I get. I have no spells left till I get a good night's rest so I can be autopiloted as long as that doesn't get me killed.

Re: The horses - if I recall the front door was the Rock Troll, so we can't reseal the tomb. If we close the horses into the 2nd room they're exposed to anything that gets past us or anything that comes up those stairs, unless there's a way to seal the stairs off again, and we can reopen from the other side?
