    (None, Dwarven Cleric) vs (Dwarf,Cleric):

    1. (None, Dwarven Cleric) goes up to Level 20, (Dwarf,Cleric) goes to Level 8

    2. (None, Dwarven Cleric) has better saving throws

    3. (Dwarf,Cleric) can multiclass, as the Dwarf race can

    4. (Dwarf,Cleric) has access to destructive spells

    5. (Dwarf,Cleric) levels at the rate of Cleric. (None, Dwarven Cleric) levels at the rate of 1.5 x (None, Dwarf). So (None, Dwarven Cleric) is about twice as slow at leveling.

Pros and Cons to both. Up to level 20 though... screw destructive magic!!

When dwarf cleric reaches lvl 8 does collecting xp becomes pointless?

He'd have to multiclass basically. I knew a guy who refused to multiclass as a gnome (who have similar limits), so by the end of the game he had ~1 million unusable XP.

But, he survived to the end of the game, so maybe there was method in what may seem like madness!

Just another minor point, the spell Greater Confusion (Illusionist spell) reads:
This spell is a more powerful version of confusion. The function
is identical, except every being in a 40' square area is affected.
Illusionists can save versus spells to avoid the effects, as may
fighters or subclasses of fighters except rangers and paladins.
Non-magical, low intelligence creatures are entitled to a saving
    throw.

So note: (Dwarf, Fighter) has a chance to resist this, but (None, Dwarf) does not.

    Hehe.

I'm generally confused so a little old spell won't worry Bandylegs.

(Waits for Fourier to update game thread now :P )

    So, max of 3 classes.
Vampires multiclass for free in exchange for the endless persecution and endless weaknesses.
    Vampires can be assassin's

Conclusion : I can just declare myself an assassin?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,558 ✭✭✭✭Fourier

I was wrong about None multiclassing. Updated above. I actually asked one of the designers.

TLDR: Yes, you can be a Dwarven Dragon Samurai.

Sorry, the "Blood Magic User" is free when multiclassing. Updated above. You'll multiclass like only two classes.

So blood magic tracks my pre-turn class?
But still... Eeeeeenteresting. Will have to read that manual when I get done with the one for Shadowrun (which will be never!)

Hey, since Vampire is a race, turning a Race elf, halfling or dwarf would cause them to lose powers? Or would their race become their primary class with blood magic user?

These last 2 pages have gone right over my head. Can't I just be a Human Thief? Kal is a simple guy.

In that case can I assume night has fallen, catch up to the caravan, make my introductions and stop moping?

Yep, no need to worry about it. These are all just extra options, so just ignore, the stuff from the original book is more than enough.:)

careful, with that kind of talk you may find a class thrust upon you by faith.

eg. on the camel is a high priest of nir, he gets down and walks over to moy, "hail servant of nir," he says, "nir wants you to train to be a ninja, refuse and he will smite you down. ta ta now, i'm away to walk the desert alone for 300 days." He then walks into the desert alone, never to be seen again.

It's more how the timelines align. If I skipped ahead to night with you, you'd be ahead of BandyLegs and Ekbard's conversation by a good few hours.

So that's a solemn oath not to jump me with a giant scorpion? Accepted!

Further to this, the explanation would be that one of your parents (usually mother) was a dragon in human, etc. form.

First of all you wouldn't meet the requirements for a Ranger which are:

    Int: 12
    Wis: 12
    Con: 15

Being reborn allows Statistic adjustment, would you agree to

    STR: 10
    DEX: 12
    CON: 15
    INT: 12
    WIS: 12
    CHA: 8

If so it would work as follows:

Okay so let's do a straight split.

    Level 4 => 8,125 XP

    Remaining XP => 25,709 XP

Split between classes => 12,855 XP each.

20,980 XP for Halfling, hence Level 5.
12,854 XP for Ranger, hence Level 4.

    Unlocks for Halfling:
    Long Bow Master:
    +4 to hit
    1d10 + 4 damage
    AC vs Two opponents: -2

    Unlocks for Ranger:
+4 damage against bugbears, orcs, kobolds, goblins, hobgoblins, ogres, ettins, all giants, and trolls
