    I want a foolproof setup for recording my band:
    1 keyboard
    1 guitar (electric)
    1 bass (electric)
    1 fiddle (mic)
    1 vocal


    I want to do live recordings.

    I like the idea of a portable multitrack recorder like the Zoom R16, but maybe I should be looking at an external soundcard and the laptop.

    What's the simplest, cheapest solution?
