Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He's a role model for gurriers everywhere, and not in a good way

Conor genuinely seems a nice lad and I wish him well but money just seems to be his god. .

He seems to be an extremely dedicated family man so that kind of balances out the money argument.

As a man with two daughters, I find that attitude pretty depressing. :(

    Vomit inducing? C'mon

No i love his drive and his charisma dont get me wrong but there is more to life than luxury and the bottom line. Your health is your wealth at the end of the day.

I think he knows that. He's making as much as he can while he's young and can take the physical punishment of it. I dare say he won't fight too much longer but he'll have a string of MMA academies and merch out his ears and he'll always be a wealthy guy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,483 ✭✭✭brianregan09

I think the problem is 95% of people can't for the life of them see that when he's touring with UFC or doing anything UFC related he's playing a character its that simple

I stayed up to watch the Mayweather fight, I really enjoyed (after being sceptical about it beforehand)

It was an interesting match up and a good fight, well worth the €0.00 I forked out to watch it on a dodgy stream.

Fair play to him looking after his family. Nice to see the respect he has for them As well. Nice guy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,661 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

Yeah, I'd be skeptical of how nice a guy he actually is, but there's no doubting his genius for promotion and his ability to achieve outlandish goals.

I love how he's unashamed at adoring his baby. Most men wouldn't have the confidence to gush over their kid like that in public.

McGregor's Father = Irish Kevin Spacey

Any chance he'd give the poor Egyptian cinema goer a few digs for telling lies while he's there

I heard he turned down a role in the new Predator film next year, citing he's too busy, told that on Boxoffice last nite!

Stutter explained! He knew Tubs was going to ask him about marrying Dee.

Loved he was saying how he "lets no one in", then baby totally cuts in.

Technically, the baby is in no position to be calling anyone else in the family a bastard, ahem.

I love how he's unashamed at adoring his baby. Most men wouldn't have the confidence to gush over their kid like that in public.

You hang around with the wrong men then!

I think most modern men have no problem conveying emotion about their kids.

If anything there is too much 'gushing'/boasting over babies today. Every fcuker that manages to get a girl pregnant today goes on as if they have created the first and last child of modern civilisation.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,520 ✭✭✭nagdefy

As with most celebrities his family and those close to him are the only ones who know what he's really like. A decent man to those he's close to in his life, somewhere in between, or the opposite.

    Poor Ryan hasn't a clue.

    Conor a dream guest.

But all the money talk and obvious selling way ott

Well depends there's the man bag brigade and the macho brigade and TBH gushing about their kids in public is not common. Privately yes but publicly .... nope.

He contradicts himself quite a bit. He talks about revenue streams and the different ways he can market himself and then he maintains it's all about fighting for him.

Hes right though it was something said in jest , I think alot of people do it in anger but the media will latch on to anything offensive these days and make a big deal of it , not saying it wasn't wrong but you have to be more careful with your wording

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,661 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

I think he was sincere, but he still seems to lack awareness about why people might be offended.

But, sure, he's a sportsman not a politican.

Ah I mean on national telly. I mean stopping to point how much he loves his kid.

I've never seen it on national TV tbh

The most polished i've seen McGregor tonight.

You have to hand it to him how he's developed his career.

I was referring to his ‘poor me’ attitude. When you are in the public eye you need to be careful about comments you make and how they might be perceived.
