Do any of the guys that learn the game on the electronic boards ever do well playing on this surface? Qpr were brilliant on their own patch years ago but crap away from home. Or is it down to doing the arithmetic?. What's the rule? Are u allowed ask what's left or what did I score?

Not sure but I do know you could be able to throw a dart anywhere on the board with 100% accuracy but if you don't know your finishes you will win nothing. This is good as a guide when starting out...

Don't know about how well lads do coming from electronic boards bit I guarantee having the maths in your head helps massively if your relying on rhythm.
    And yes you can ask.

    MVG's scoring has gone nuts.

This is when we'll really find out about Cross.

There he is! What a set from Van Gerwen

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 429 ✭✭JimmyMcGill

    That was easy.

Cross starting to sweat up a bit like a horse in the paddock. Have to pay more attention to the walk ons in future.

Only a set though, if Matchplay, yes, would be massive burst but not in set play

Well no-one can live with mvg on that form obviously

But Cross still plodding along nicely. He's taking his chances when they come, mainly.

    Very impressive

Huge double 4 there from Cross. If he'd fúcked that up, I suspect it could've gone downhill.

Cross needs to hit his D16 quicker.
Can't go all match relying on last dart D4

Regardless of what happens Rob Cross is an absolute animal.

To do this first time in a Worlds is unbelievable.

Thats better from Cross first time 32

    Precisely.

If he can keep plodding along, taking his chances and not missing stupid doubles, then we'll know a lot about him.

Missed 32 and 16 again and it cost Cross

  • Registered Users Posts: 904 ✭✭✭squadro

Balls of steel this lad. Mvg will still do him though.

Another amazingly times ton+ check out. This could be the new major rivalry in darts

Oh oh oh....Robbie Robbie cross...some set of cojones on him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 71,799 ✭✭✭✭Ted_YNWA

    D16 is not his friend

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,740 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

    This is thoroughly absorbing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 36,259 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Well I think we now know.

Many would've wobbled after that ridiculous MVG set in the 6th.

Whatever happens, Cross is an absolute beast. Putting RVB's checkout choking last night to absolute shame.

Totally clutch so far when he's needed to be.

    Amazing darts.

    This kid is a beast.

27, first ever worlds. Animal of a player.

Best match of the tournament, some excellent darts. Very impressed by cross, interesting to see what he'll do the closer he gets to the finish line. Mvg definitely here for the taking

I just hope Cross, if plays Taylor tomorrow doesn't hold back on celebrations on winning a set as he did just there....Personally, I like to see it but will be a sign of weakness against Taylor if doesnt

    Unbelievable bottle. Loving this

That said if MvG sneaks through it'll be the ideal way to win the semi really
