Who do you get to install/sort out TV points? probably a bit of a dumb question but im at a bit of a loss. Virgin said not a job for them.

We have points all over the place and need to get them tided up Striped back, and sorted out but dont want digital TV installed. Just the old plug the pipe(?) into the wall and go with whatever 8-15 channels.

We are doing work to the house and the tv points are a mess, poor signal in some, some split to other rooms etc etc, there are 3 'box points' down stairs and one up stairs (point attached to wall with a upc/ntl small box). We have virgin internet but do not want virgin digital TV. I just need the points stripped back and tided up. To receive analog(?) connection or should it be saorview ?

    Thanks

Just to let you know. The long term plan is to shut down the analogue signal. This could be 1 year or 5 years. I've no idea but they are planning on shutting down

An electrician will be able do the work you require. Any company that installs satellite or tv areals will also be able to do this for you

What are they planning on shutting down?

Analogue TV shut down five years ago.

There are no plans to shut down uhf broadcasting, for which you still need an aerial.

Analogue channels are still available via VM cable. Long term these channels will go to make way for digital services.

In Dublin we had /cable tv. Before Virgin it was Upc, NTL, Cable link, RTE relays etc..

Virgin still pump out the old analogue signal alongside the digital. If you have Virgin digital then you can "pipe" (run cables) in every room in the the house for the analogue tv channels. There are around 15 channels in total. Virgin have said that their longer term plans were to stop providing the analogue channels & that everyone would need a digital box. There are still people who have Virgin analogue in Dublin

They still have about 26,000 analogue only subscribers across their network, not to mention digital/broadband and telephone subscribers using it other TVs around the house.
