    Hi,

I have a flight to Washington on Sunday noon, what is the recommended time to be at the airport considering US Preclearance queue & checks for the first time traveler. Any other tips appreciated.

    Thanks

The other US bound flights on Sunday morning/midday from T2 are as follows....

    10:35 Philadelphia
    10:50 New York
    11:05 New York
    11:30 Boston
    12:10 Washington
    12:30 San Francisco
    12:45 Washington
    12:50 Newark

I'd say two hours before your flight will be safe but you could make it three as it's your first time so you'll probably be (needlessly) worried about the experience.

You won't be allowed to take certain foods past the pre-clearance station (US Dept of AG. regulations), this includes some unpacked meats and fruit like oranges so if you bring food to consume in the airport, you may will need to consume it before you present to the US immigration people.

Make sure you've the ESTA sorted and there's no need to have anything printed, they will find it on their system using your passport number.
