Is it much of a financial boost to the host club from the European Tour or is it just the prestige and possibly more green fee bookings in the following years. Couldn’t see Ballyliffen getting much more revenue from free fees due to the course location, so what’s in for them. Around ten years ago they couldn’t get courses to take it now there queuing up to take it. Why?

They have to pay for it. I know Druids Glen wanted it back a few years ago but were outbid.

I know they pay for it but exactly what do they get in return?

    1. Massive publicity
    2. More revenue from membership/green fees

People remember for years to come that a course held the Irish Open.

It hasn't exactly done a whole lot for the K club then.
