Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yea, but he's Irish, could act like it. He is broadcasting to Ireland fans, not neutrals . I love the passion of the Brazilian commentators .

Go off and watch Brazil so.

One of the most atrocious halves of football from Ireland that I have ever seen. O'neill is an embarrassment of a manager.

He set out to do this, geez. Going according to plan, plan is to be in this game in second leg, not 5-0 down.

Perfectly calm. Being half Egyptian I've heard it all before. I was just trying to educate. :)

How does MoN watch game after game of this and think it's acceptable?.

The selections are irrelevant when the shape/set up is this counter productive to holding the ball.

It's perplexing that after a decade of this from Trapp and MoN that we're always there or there abouts.

The luck of the Irish must really exist.

Tbf it's the only way this team can compete,Mon simply doesn't have the players to play any other way,the guy is a fcukin miracle worker if you ask me to even get this team to this stage,it's the worst Irish team in 40 yrs

Its embarrassing and its only luck that has kept us in it , At least the last 5 mins have promised better.

An away goal is here for the taking. MON needs to give them a bollocking.

    That was "satisfactory" for us.

Would love us to get the away goal.

    Christy impressive on the run.

they are not ready when we press at all.

Our slow pace - genuinely makes them a bit panicked if we press fast and high.

Denmark definitely had the better in that first half, but Denmark's chances did not come about by them forcing the issue. Clark showing himself to be a liability in high pressure situations once again. At least Ireland got a bit of forward play towards the end.

Anyway, as anyone could have predicted, Ireland doing their damnedest trying to prevent a game of football from breaking out.

Yes it should have been a goal. But George saying should have been the first suggests he thinks there are many more to come. He loves saying crap like this.
It should have been a goal, full stop, not one of many to come.

    WTF are you on about!!

    Little to be irritated about.

It should have been the first. There is no other way to design it in words.

He didn't say anything about "one of many to come"

    50/50 possession

    Is that what Opta says?

    That can't be right, surely?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

We came into it more near the end of the half but we're fortunate not to be a goal down. Denmark not clinical with the chances that came their way.

The Christie chance summed up the problem. Murphy had done well to hold the ball up earlier in the move but he doesn't have the pace to get near the box and provide an option. I hope to see Long on at the 60-65 minute mark if nothing changes.

You can't start picking out individual players for being anonymous or not showing much when MON's instructions are obviously safety first at all costs.

The midfield has been told to take no chances on the ball. If you take no chances (i.e. won't play a forward pass, or try a one-two, or even get your head up to see what's ahead of you) then what chance do they have.

It'd been 7 minutes gone and the ball came off a Danish player and came towards Stephen Ward under no pressure. MON could be seen gesturing for Ward to slow down, and Ward just let the ball run out of play.

Hoolahan for O'Dowda to add a bit of composure, he can find that pass to get a goal.........
