Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. If someone in their 20s/30s/40s is robbing and destroying their local LIDL then they are a scumbag. It's not rhetoric, it's just fact. "Where are the parents?" These scumbags are parents. They're dirt. Needlessly and selfishly using up vital emergency services in red alert events like a scumbag makes you a... scumbag.

So LON found herself a man, and now she’s abandoning her snowflakes.

You couldn’t make it up! 😂

    big problem in Ireland.

Haha no It's because like most feminists she won't dare attack Islam.[/quote]

I’d say there’s loads of criticisms of Islam out there. Do you want her to tackle that specific issue?

It's the FGM aspect I assume the poster is referring to as that was mentioned. Although there are plenty of anti-women stances within the Muslim world tbh.

Does Louise O'Neill "write" for The Daily Edge

Talk about finding something to be offended about for the sake of it

Yes because it takes guys and I'd respect her for speaking against Islam.

Also she can't dare speak out against the practices of black people, since like her, they are a minority group oppressed by those evil, nasty white men.

She picks and chooses her fights , and if they happen to be ones that she offer safe targets so much the better.

Yes and hasn't she tweeted admiration for Tupac ? - or stated in an interview at least - that's Tupac Shakur - gangster thug that had sexual assault charges against him.

And such respect for women in his lyrics.

Again, let's be clear LON is not a feminist, she just has a burning hatred for white western men.

I have seen feminists quote Tupac on Facebook too. What is this obsession they have with him?

There is a bizarre oppression scale, where feminism is high, but not quite as high as "racism" .

This is a bizarre scale, apparently feminism doesn't rank as high as the gay rights movement either.

There was a case where a porn star refused to have sex with an actor that had done gay porn.

The abuse she got eventually led to her suicide.

Amazing, from so called "feminists" chastising a woman for NOT allowing herself to be raped (I think it's fair to use rape here - having sex with someone she didn't want to)

Anyway, kind of drifting here, but it does show what a ridiculous mess the left have gotten themselves into... this oppression Olympics.

Emmm... you do realise that feminism and identity politics does not make up the entire political spectrum of everything left of centre?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Absolutely and when she is being pressed to comment on something which it appears not just white males are the perpetrators of, she suddenly finds her empathy bone.

You are really stretching to say that she's "racist" based on that. She said their behaviour was bad just asked that epithet like scumbag not be used.

Who is this O'Neill wan and why does she need a dispensation to use a garden hose?

Can she not get a dacent fella to slip her a length of hose every now and then?

Is she a complete munter or something?

She said it was Bad and horrific. But as you said, she just asked that they not be dehumanised by labelling them scumbags. That’s somehow wrong too.

I’m sure you read lots of articles every week about FGM. At least as many FGM articles as LON articles. But maybe, just maybe, she doesn’t see FGM as a big problem in Ireland.

Now, maybe you’re suggesting she should spread her wings and have an influence in he wider world as well as Ireland. But I think it’s unlikely anyone in the LON appreciation thread wants her to actually tackle any MORE issues than she current does.

But given how many of th posters are regular readers of LON, maybe the really do want to see her tackle yet more topics of social import

It does happen here you know, it's widespread in Britain too; I saw a documentary about the authorities trying to stamp it out in England which is next to impossible. She could use her position to raise awareness of the issue. But why should she, like you say she doesn't see it as a big problem because it doesn't affect her personally, it's only affecting the innocent victims in this country after all.
She will never tackle any issue like this that could cause blowback or hurt her popularity, she will stick to bashing the evil straight white male as has been pointed out many times in this thread.

I think it's time she dropped the feminist tag she's a canny capitalist all the way.

Eh, where did I say she was racist? She's virtue signalling is the damn point.

If either of you think she would have an issue with those lads being called scumbags if none of them had been black, then you are very naive.

In fact I'd say there'd be a good chance she'd have reacted to a those FB vids as evidence that young white men think they have a right to everything.

Do you think she’s some kind of appointed campaigner who has to campaign on all topics equally, even if she doesn’t really care about them?

I think if she's going to call herself a feminist then she should at least pretend to care about other women.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,570 ✭✭✭Ulysses Gaze

Probably a case of picking her battles and organising her workload. Given that she’s written / books numerous newspaper articles along with tv and radio appearances, I’d say she’s reasonably busy.

But you’d have to ask her why she didn’t tackle that specific issue.

I suspect as intentionally focuses on fringe issues to raise awareness. If the issue became mainstream it would be carried forward by other people. I imagine she considers herself the vanguard.

All it would have taken was a Tweet.

There were black characters in Glenroe-can't remember her name, but she was in it for some time towards the end of the shows run.

Yeah but never seems to be anything that denigrates, criticizes or calls out any other so-called minority even if they're committing the same perceived slights and injustices. #Equality

Do, just to clarify, should she be able to choose what she campaigns on or should she campaign on all issues equally?

This thread is almost civilised when certain posters aren't about.

If you think a bunch of anti-feminists having a circle jerk is civilised then sure......
