    Hi all,
I know there have been many many posts on this but I'm finding it hard to find info - I was in n amercia last September and got bitten by a tick I have had all the typical symptoms of Lyme since Feb this year and only just got tested by my gp waiting on the results - the doc put me on 200mg daily of doxy so hoping this is at least a start to feeling better - I have also been referred to dr lambert in the mater so I'm hoping I get an appointment soon.
Does anyone know if you are still treated accordingly if the bite was in America and not Ireland there seems to be a bit of conflicting information on this? Also any good news stories out there ? I am struggling to find anything that didn't involve a lengthy stay in Germany or America - every day I'm getting more and more fearful that I'll never get out of this!!
    Thank you

    Hi,

How did you get on in your treatment? My boyfriend was diagnosed last February. He was put on 3 weeks of doxycycline but it didn't help. We think he probably had it with about a year. He's trying a herbal treatment now with a local herbalist but nothing seems to help. I've heard Jack Lambert in Dublin in the best person to get treatment from, however his website (iddoctor) says treatment is a month of antibiotics?! This doesn't seem like enough at all. He's already had that and it's done nothing, and everything we've read says that a short course of antibiotics is only effective if you catch it immediately.

Would love to hear how you're doing now

Hi, I had forgotten I had posted this ! After trying antibiotics without much difference I started biomagnetic therapy early last year i still go monthly but I am Definitely coming to an end now - I’d say I am 85% better ,the improvements I have had are unreal- recovery from lyme and co infections is a long long road . I went one step forward and ten back for a long time and really really questioned if this therapy was working but there is no denying now that I am getting better . My advice to anyone with lyme is to try this therapy give it 12 months before stopping .. just my opinion/experience but antibiotics and herbs didn’t do anything and long term antibiotics end up doing more harm then good - check out tick talk Facebook page if you havnt already it’s an Irish support group and there is some good advice on there regarding diet and supplements - everyone has there own opinion on getting better a lot of people don’t believe in alternative therapies and feel like antibiotics are the only route - I was one of those people until desperation sent me in the direction of biomagnetism . If you are on the tick talk page search bio mag and you’ll see many many people with lyme are using it and some amazing results - be warned it’s not a quick fix , you will feel worse before better and you need to find an experienced therapist that specialises in Lyme - I feel for your boyfriend it’s an awful disease and there is practically no medical awareness or help out there but let him know there’s an end to it And there is many others in his position ! Feel free to ask any more questions and good luck !

Thank you so much for the detailed answer! We will look up biomagnetic therapy. We're based in Cork. Where do you get it? Finding someone who has some knowledge has proved really difficult! I'm delighted to hear you are so much better though, best of luck with the rest of your journey.
