Apprentice question

Just started an apprenticeship in the electrical trade with a contractor in Dublin doing industrial installions and testing and have a few questions.

Looking at the syllabus, the final phase (phase 7) is based with the employer. Is there a set duration for this phase? I assumed once you got through phase 6 you would be qualified but seemingly not. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Also, any qualified industrial sparks give me any tips to get the most out of my apprenticeship?

If i remember, you need to do 3 months after phase 6. You need to have a minimum amount of work hours done between each phase.

Show alot of interest, helps alot to do courses on the side.

You must complete a minimum of four years to qualify.

Advice: Phase 2 will be relatively easy, Phase 4 will be a big jump from Phase 2. Phase 6 is not too bad if get through Phase 4.

If you are not good with math its probably worth brushing up on basics such as trigonometry.

Once you pass Phase 6 you are on the home run, you just need to wait until you hit 4 years total time which is usually 3-6 months for most.

    Ask plenty of questions.

If you get Kevin Street for Phase 4 or 6 don't go to the pub with the lads during the day :)
