Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The problems here are two-fold I think.. bad management, and we just don't have the players unfortunately (partly because we're a small country, also because of GAA)

    And now it's 4 :(

Tbh at this Id say **** Qatar in 22 even. We clearly need an overhaul from the bottom up, which goes to grassroots. We need to be rid of the likes of Delaney for any hope in the medium to long term.
Would be 100% behind this, and like many I've been saying it for years. Tonight won't be, but should be, a wake up call about what we do not have the players and it's very much a systemic issue as opposed to a barren patch for what is available to us.

I'm no MON defender, but I don't know how he can be blamed for some of the absolutely symbolic errors individual players have made.

Here come the grassroots conversations. We’ll have dozens of them tomorrow. Same every time we don’t qualify for something.

We have been saying this for years and nothing changes. If Delaney goes some other chancer will take over.

Football isn't anywhere near the Gaa or rugby in this country in terms of participation funding or support. We have no business being at the level we're at in the sport, I think eventually we have to accept that in the modern Era of no Irish players at top clubs were just not going to be good enough. Getting to this point with the players available is in reality a miracle in itself. Denmark doesn't have three other field sports ahead of soccer, no country we play against does, we will never, bar a miracle be anywhere near the level we reached in the 90's again.

    Here we go.

Funny that, we were 1-0 up and kept playing at that just like some wanted. Worked out great, eh?

    Chris Hughton please

No manager is gonna leave a Premier League club to manager Ireland

Probably not even a top-half Championship club for that matter!

Those lads leaving early would want to be ashamed...you take your hammering.

NOTE TO MANY: This is your wake up call about how talented we actually are when it comes to "playing open football" against other sides. I'm sure most will learn absolutely nothing from this and expect us to tiki-taka our way through France, Spain or whomever we get in the Euro 2020 qualifiers, but what you are seeing is the painful truth.

Has Wes taken over the game by the scruff of the neck yet?
    On the money, unfortunately.

There's a reason why our most successful managers have played conservative football. Sad but true.

Bottom line is the team are off similar general quality, but one team has a world class player and the other doesn't.

    It's not rocket science.

Nah, Denmark have a few players that are way better than what we have, but they play for clubs that Irish football fans don't really follow.

Sisto? Most assists in La Liga this season.
Poulsen? One of the stars of RB Leipzig's 2nd place finish in Germany.
Kjaer plays for a Champions League club in Spain
Jørgensen will probably be playing in the PL/Bundesliga in the next 12 months

We go one up, at home, against Denmark...and concede four... And a crowd full of morons singing the fields of Athenry ...

Liam Brady and Eamonn Dunphy would have done a better job than that shower even with their walking sticks.
